Problem diagnostics of ABS

Scheme of connection of a control lamp of ABS


 The description of diagnostic checks is provided for a case of performance of diagnostics without application of SSM.


The special control lamp located on an instrument guard of the car notifies on refusals of ABS of the driver. As soon as the module of management of ABS elicits the violation fact in system, it makes its shutdown. The brake system continues to function thus in the usual mode.

Diagnostics of a condition of ABS is made every time at start of the engine and is followed by short-term operation of a control lamp. Within a short period of time after start the lama has to be disconnected automatically.

If the control lamp of ABS lights up and continues to burn during the movement, first of all make sure that the parking brake is completely released, and the brake system functions regularly. If all in norm, therefore, there was a refusal of ABS. First of all make the following elementary checks:

a) Check a condition of brake supports and wheel cylinders;
b) Check a state and reliability of fastening of contact sockets of an electrical wiring of the module of management of ABS and wheel sensors (see the Head Onboard electric equipment);
c) Check the corresponding safety locks (see the Head Onboard electric equipment).

Refusals of a control lamp of ABS

Break or short circuit in a chain of its electrical wiring can be a cause of failures of functioning of a control lamp of ABS.

The control lamp of ABS is not activated at ignition inclusion

 At connection of the socket the sensor switch automatically closes among themselves plugs No. No. 22 and 23 that has to lead to activation of a control lamp of ABS.


Try to include ignition, without making start of the engine, - if the other, being a part combinations of devices, control lamps work regularly, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise it is necessary to make the necessary recovery device of an instrument guard.

Switch off ignition. Remove a combination of devices, take a control lamp of ABS and check its state. If the lamp fused, make its replacement, otherwise pass to the following stage of check.

Disunite contact couple of B62/F45 and measure tension between the mass of the chassis (-) and No. G6 plug (+) of the B62 socket. If the result of measurement makes less than 3 V, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise, check a condition of an electrical wiring of the corresponding control lamp. Make necessary recovery repair.

Include ignition and repeat check. If the result of measurement makes less than 3 V, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise, check a condition of an electrical wiring of the corresponding control lamp. Make necessary recovery repair.

Switch off ignition, put the checked control lamp on the regular place and establish a combination of devices.

Include ignition and repeat measurement of tension. If the result of measurement does not exceed the limit of the range of 10 ÷ 15 V, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise check a condition of an electrical wiring. Make necessary recovery repair.

Switch off ignition and make check of tension between the G6 plug (+) of the F45 socket and the mass of the chassis. If the result of measurement makes less than 3 V, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise check a condition of the corresponding electrical wiring. Make necessary recovery repair.

Include ignition and repeat check. If the result of measurement makes less than 3 V, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise, check a condition of an electrical wiring of the corresponding control lamp. Make necessary recovery repair.

Measure resistance between the plug No. 23 of the F49 socket and weight. If the result of measurement makes less than 5 Ohms, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise check serviceability of grounding of assembly of the module of the management/hydromodulator. Make necessary recovery repair.

Measure resistance between the weight and the G6 plug the F45 socket. If the result of measurement makes less than 5 Ohms, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise check a condition of the socket and a plait of its electrical wiring. Make necessary recovery repair, in case of need replace the socket.

Switch off ignition and check serviceability of a condition of contact sockets on a chain site between a combination of devices and the module of management of ABS, - if signs of violation of reliability of contacts are absent, replace assembly of the module of the ABS management/hydromodulator.

The control lamp of ABS is not disconnected after implementation of start of the engine

 At connection of the socket the sensor switch automatically closes among themselves plugs No. No. 22 and 23 that has to lead to activation of a control lamp of ABS.


Switch off ignition and make sure of completeness of landing and reliability of fixing of the contact socket of the module of the ABS management/hydromodulator.

Measure resistance between the mass of the chassis and everyone (And and In) from diagnostic plugs (B81). If the result of measurement makes less than 5 Ohms, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise check a condition of a plait of the corresponding electrical wiring, make necessary recovery repair.

Switch off ignition and connect the diagnostic plug to the plug No. 8 of the diagnostic B82 socket. Disunite the contact socket of the module of management of ABS and measure resistance between the plug No. 4 of the F49 socket and mass of the chassis. If the result of measurement makes less than 5 Ohms, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise check a condition of an electrical wiring on a chain site between the module of management of ABS and the diagnostic socket, make necessary recovery repair.

Start the engine on single turns and check tension between the plug B (+) on the back party of the generator (the food plug) and the mass of the chassis. If the result of measurement does not exceed the limit of the range of 10 ÷ 15 V, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise replace/repair the generator (see the Head Elektrooborudovaniye of the engine) and repeat check.

Switch off ignition and check a condition of polar plugs of the battery and reliability of fastening for them terminal tips of wires. In case of need make necessary corrections.

Disunite the contact socket of an electrical wiring of the module of management of ABS, then start the engine on single turns and measure tension between the plug No. 1 (+) of the F49 socket and the mass of the chassis. If the result of measurement does not exceed the limit of the range of 10 ÷ 15 V, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise check a condition of an electrical wiring of a chain of giving of food. Make necessary recovery repair.

Disunite contact couple of B62/F45 and include ignition, - if the control lamp of ABS does not work, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise check a condition of a forward plait of an electrical wiring.

Switch off ignition and check a condition of ledges of plugs of the socket of the module of management. If plugs as it should be, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise replace the module the management/hydromodulator (see the Section Removal, installation and check of serviceability of functioning of assembly of the module of the ABS management/hydromodulator).

Measure resistance between plugs No. No. 22 and 23 of the socket of the module of management of ABS. If the result of measurement makes more than 1 megohm, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise replace assembly of the module of the ABS management/hydromodulator (see the Section Removal, installation and check of serviceability of functioning of assembly of the module of the ABS management/hydromodulator).

Measure resistance between the G6 plug of the F45 socket and mass of the chassis. If the result of measurement makes less than 0.5 Ohms, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise make necessary recovery repair of an electrical wiring.

Connect an electrical wiring to the module of management of ABS and measure resistance between the G6 plug of the F45 socket and mass of the chassis. If the result of measurement makes more than 1 megohm, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise make necessary recovery repair of an electrical wiring.

Check a state and reliability of fixing of the contact socket of the module of management of ABS. In case of need make necessary corrections, or replace the module block the management/hydromodulator.

It is not possible to make reading of codes of malfunctions

If the control lamp joins and disconnected regularly, however does not highlight an initial code (DTC 11, - see below) upon transition to the diagnostic mode, switch off ignition and execute checks.

Failures of wheel sensors


Failures of wheel sensors lead to violation of serviceability of functioning of ABS. The scheme of connection of wheel sensors is submitted on an illustration.


Break in chains of the wheel sensor, or excessively high level of entrance tension (DTC No. No. 21, 23, 25 and 27)

Switch off ignition. Disconnect an electrical wiring from the corresponding wheel sensor. Measure resistance between plugs No. No. 1 and 2 of the contact socket of the sensor. If the result of measurement does not exceed the limit of the range of 1 ÷ 1.5 kOhm, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise replace the sensor.

Disconnect an electrical wiring from the module of management of ABS and measure tension between the plug No. 1 of the corresponding wheel sensor and mass of the chassis. If the result of measurement makes less than 1 V, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise replace the sensor.

Include ignition and repeat the previous check. If the result of measurement makes less than 1 V, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise replace the sensor.

Switch off ignition and connect an electrical wiring to the sensor. Measure resistance between plugs No. No. 11 and 12 (DTC 21)/9 and 10 (DTC 23)/14 and 15 (DTC 25)/7 and 8 (DTC 27) of the F49 socket. If the result of measurement does not exceed the limit of the range of 1 ÷ 1.5 kOhm, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise check a condition of an electrical wiring on a site between the module of management and the sensor. Make necessary recovery repair.

Measure tension between the weight and the plug No. 11 (DTC 21)/9 (DTC 23)/14 (DTC 25)/7 (DTC 27) of the F49 socket. If the result of measurement makes more than 1 V, eliminate the reason of short circuit on a chain site between the sensor and the module of management of ABS. In the absence of tension (less than 1 V) include ignition and repeat check. If tension on the former is absent (makes less than 1 V), pass to the following stage of check, otherwise check a condition of an electrical wiring between the sensor and the module of management of ABS, in case of need eliminate the reason of short circuit.

Switch off ignition and check reliability of a tightening of bolts of fastening of the sensor (32 Nanometers). In case of need tighten fixture and pass to the following stage of check.

Measure gap size between the sensor and a rotor on all perimeter of the last. At an insufficient gap (see Specifications) make its adjustment by selection of adjusting laying (26755AA000). If the gap is too great, remove remote laying and replace a rotor (assembled with hinged assembly) or the failed sensor. Having finished adjustment, pass to the following stage of check.

Check wheel nave beating size. If the result of measurement makes less than 0.05 mm, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise replace a nave.

Switch off ignition and measure resistance between the plug No. 1 of the contact socket of the wheel sensor and mass of the chassis. If the result of measurement makes more than 1 megohm, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise replace the sensor.

Switch off ignition and connect an electrical wiring to the wheel sensor. Measure resistance between the mass of the chassis and the plug No. 11 (DLC 21)/9 (DLC 23)/14 (DLC 25)/7 (DLC 27) of the F49 socket. If the result of measurement makes more than 1 megohm, pass to the following stage of check, in opposite check a condition of an electrical wiring on a chain site between the sensor and the module of management of ABS. Make necessary recovery repair. If an electrical wiring as it should be, replace assembly of the module of the management/hydromodulator.

Check reliability of fastening of contact sockets of the module of management of ABS and the wheel sensor. Make necessary corrections. If contacts as it should be, pass to the following stage of check.

Restore initial connection of all contact sockets, clear memory of the processor (see below) and repeat procedure of reading of diagnostic codes. If no changes (towards improvement) happened, replace assembly of the module of the ABS management/hydromodulator. At emergence of new codes pass to performance of the corresponding check. If refusal did not repeat, therefore, malfunction was temporary, - once again make sure of reliability of fastening of all contact connections.

Short circuit in a chain of the wheel sensor (DTC No. No. 22, 24, 26 and 28)

Switch off ignition and check reliability of a tightening of bolts of fastening of the sensor (32 Nanometers). In case of need tighten fixture and pass to the following stage of check.

Measure gap size between the sensor and a rotor on all perimeter of the last. At an insufficient gap (see Specifications) make its adjustment by selection of adjusting laying (26755AA000). If the gap is too great, remove remote laying and replace a rotor (assembled with hinged assembly) or the failed sensor. Having finished adjustment, pass to the following stage of check.

In the absence of opportunity to use an oscillograph pass to check of a mechanical condition of a rotor and cleaning of components.

In the presence of an oscillograph the car also establish to a poddomkratta it on props, - wheels have to come off the earth completely. Switch off ignition and connect an oscillograph between No. C5 No. plugs (+) and B5 (-) (DTC 22)/C6 (+) and B6 (-) (DTC 24) of the B62 or 1 socket (+) and 2 (-) (DTC 26)/4 (+) and 5 (-) (DTC 28) of the F55 socket.

 Performance of this procedure can lead to record in memory of the processor of a code of malfunction 29.


Include ignition and, rotating the corresponding wheel of the car, watch indications of an oscillograph. Amplitude of the displayed sinusoidal signal should not exceed the limit of range 0.12 ÷ 1.00 In, - if this condition is not satisfied, or the signal has the wrong form, pass to the following stage of check.

Attentively examine the wheel sensor and its rotor on existence of signs of damages and pollution. Wipe components, eliminate the malfunctions taking place.

Check wheel nave beating size. If the result of measurement makes less than 0.05 mm, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise replace a nave.

Switch off ignition. Disconnect an electrical wiring from the corresponding wheel sensor. Measure resistance between plugs No. No. 1 and 2 of the contact socket of the sensor. If the result of measurement does not exceed the limit of the range of 1 ÷ 1.5 kOhm, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise replace the sensor.

Measure resistance between the weight and the plug No. 1 of the contact socket of the wheel sensor. If the result of measurement makes more than 1 megohm, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise replace the sensor.

Connect an electrical wiring to the wheel sensor and disconnect it from the module of management of ABS. Measure resistance between plugs No. No. 11 and 12 (DTC 22)/9 and 10 (DTC 24)/14 and 15 (DTC 26)/7 and 8 (DTC 28) of the F49 socket of the module of management of ABS. If the result of measurement does not exceed the limit of the range of 1 ÷ 1.5 kOhm, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise make necessary recovery repair of an electrical wiring on a chain site between the sensor and the module the ABS management/hydromodulator.

Measure resistance between the mass of the chassis and the plug No. 11 (DTC 22)/9 (DTC 24)/14 (DTC 26)/7 (DTC 28) of the F49 socket of the module of management. If the result of measurement makes more than 1 megohm, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise check an electrical wiring between the sensor and the module for existence of short circuit. Make necessary recovery repair.

Measure resistance between the weight and the plug No. 23 of the F49 socket. If the result of measurement makes less than 0.5 Ohms, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise eliminate a cause of infringement of quality of grounding.

Check reliability of fastening of contact sockets of the module of management of ABS and the wheel sensor. Make necessary corrections. If contacts as it should be, pass to the following stage of check.

Make sure that automobile phone / transmitter of remote control is installed on sufficient removal from a plait of an electrical wiring of the wheel sensor.

Restore initial connection of all contact sockets and measure resistance between the weight and the plug No. A5 (DTC 22)/A6 (DTC 24) of the B62 socket. If the result of measurement makes less than 0.5 Ohms, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise replace a screened plait.

Restore initial connection of all contact sockets and repeat procedure of reading of diagnostic codes. If no changes (towards improvement) happened, replace assembly of the module of the ABS management/hydromodulator. At emergence of new codes pass to the corresponding dough. If refusal did not repeat, therefore, malfunction was temporary, - once again make sure of reliability of fastening of all contact connections.

The problems connected with serviceability of delivery by the wheel sensor (one or all four) information signal (DTC 29) take place

 Free rotation of wheels within more than 1 minute, and also the long movement with the steering wheel which is turned out against the stop can lead to record in memory of the processor of a code of malfunction 29, - simply clear memory of the processor (see below)!


Estimate a condition of protectors and pressure of a rating of tires. In case of need make the corresponding corrections / replacements.

Check reliability of a tightening of bolts of fastening of ABS sensors (32 Nanometers). In case of need tighten fixture and pass to the following stage of check.

Measure gap size between the sensor and a rotor on all perimeter of the last. At an insufficient gap (see Specifications) make its adjustment by selection of adjusting laying (26755AA000). If the gap is too great, remove remote laying and replace a rotor (assembled with hinged assembly) or the failed sensor. Having finished adjustment, pass to the following stage of check.

Failures of the module of the ABS management/hydromodulator

 Failures of the module of the management/hydromodulator lead to violation of serviceability of functioning of ABS.


Violation of serviceability of functioning of inlet (DTC 31, 33, 35 i 37)/final (DTC 32, 34, 36 and 38) of the electromagnetic valve

Disconnect an electrical wiring from the module of management of ABS.

Start the engine on single turns and measure tension between the plug No. 1 (+) of the F49 socket of the control unit and the mass of the chassis. If the result of measurement does not exceed the limit of the range of 10 ÷ 15 V, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise check a condition of an electrical wiring between the battery, the switch of ignition and the module of management of ABS. Make necessary recovery repair.

Switch off ignition and measure resistance between the mass of the chassis and the plug No. 23 of the F49 socket. If the result of measurement makes less than 0.5 Ohms, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise eliminate a cause of infringement of quality of grounding.

Check serviceability of a state and reliability of fixing of contact sockets of an electrical wiring on the module of management of ABS, the generator and the battery. In case of need make the corresponding recovery repair. If violations of quality of contacts are absent, pass to the following stage of check.

Switch off ignition. Restore initial connection of an electrical wiring. Clear memory of the processor and repeat procedure of reading of diagnostic codes. If no changes (towards improvement) happened, replace assembly of the module of the ABS management/hydromodulator. At emergence of new codes pass to the corresponding dough. If refusal did not repeat, therefore, malfunction was temporary, - once again make sure of reliability of fastening of all contact connections.

Violation of serviceability of functioning of the module of management of ABS (DTC 41)

Switch off ignition. Disconnect an electrical wiring from the module of management of ABS and measure resistance between the plug No. 23 of the F49 socket and mass of the chassis. If the result of measurement makes less than 0.5 Ohms, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise eliminate a cause of infringement of quality of grounding.

Check serviceability of a state and reliability of fixing of contact sockets of an electrical wiring on the module of management of ABS, the generator and the battery. In case of need make the corresponding recovery repair. If violations of quality of contacts are absent, pass to the following stage of check.

Make sure that automobile phone / transmitter of remote control is installed on sufficient removal from ABS electrical wiring plaits.

Switch off ignition. Restore initial connection of an electrical wiring. Clear memory of the processor and repeat procedure of reading of diagnostic codes. If no changes (towards improvement) happened, replace assembly of the module of the ABS management/hydromodulator. At emergence of new codes pass to the corresponding dough. If refusal did not repeat, therefore, malfunction was temporary, - once again make sure of reliability of fastening of all contact connections.

Deviation from the face value of level of supply voltage (DTC 42)

Start the engine and warm up it up to the normal working temperature. Check correctness of installation of turns of idling. Measure tension between the plug B (+) on the back party of the generator and the mass of the chassis. If the result of measurement does not exceed the limit of the range of 10 ÷ 17 V, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise check a condition of system of a charge (see the Head Elektrooborudovaniye of the engine), make necessary corrections.

Switch off ignition and check a condition of polar plugs of the battery and reliability of fixing for them terminal tips of wires. In case of need smooth out contact surfaces of plugs/tips. If plugs as it should be, disconnect an electrical wiring from the module of management of ABS, start the engine on single turns and measure tension between the mass and the plug No. 1 (+) of the F49 socket. If the result of measurement does not exceed the limit of the range of 10 ÷ 17 V, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise check a condition of an electrical wiring between the switch of ignition and the contact socket of the module of management of ABS. Make necessary recovery repair.

Switch off ignition and measure resistance between the plug No. 23 of the F49 socket and mass of the chassis. If the result of measurement makes less than 0.5 Ohms, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise eliminate a cause of infringement of quality of grounding.

Check serviceability of a state and reliability of fixing of contact sockets of an electrical wiring on the module of management of ABS, the generator and the battery. In case of need make the corresponding recovery repair. If violations of quality of contacts are absent, pass to the following stage of check.

Switch off ignition. Restore initial connection of an electrical wiring. Clear memory of the processor and repeat procedure of reading of diagnostic codes. If no changes (towards improvement) happened, replace assembly of the module of the ABS management/hydromodulator. At emergence of new codes pass to the corresponding dough. If refusal did not repeat, therefore, malfunction was temporary, - once again make sure of reliability of fastening of all contact connections.

Violation of serviceability of functioning of a control system of AT (DTC 44)

Check marking of assembly of the module of the ABS management/hydromodulator, - the code is applied on a block surface between unions of connection of hydraulic lines and for models (see Specifications). If marking answers a complete set of your car, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise replace assembly of the module of the ABS management/hydromodulator.

Switch off ignition and disunite two sockets of an electrical wiring of the module of management of transmission (TCM). Also disconnect an electrical wiring from the module of management of ABS. Measure resistance between the plug No. 3 of the F49 socket and mass of the chassis. If the result of measurement makes more than 1 megohm, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise make recovery repair of an electrical wiring on a site between TCM and the module of management of ABS.

Include ignition and measure tension between the weight and the plug No. 3 of the F49 socket. If the result of measurement makes less than 1 V, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise make necessary recovery repair of an electrical wiring on a site between TCM and the module of management of ABS.

Switch off ignition. Connect an electrical wiring to TCM, then again turn the ignition key in the situation ON. Measure tension between the mass of the chassis and plugs No. 21 of the 24-contact B55 TCM socket. If the result of measurement makes 10 ÷ 15 V, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise TCM needs recovery repair, - if violations of serviceability of functioning of AT take place, replace TCM.


Measure tension between the weight and plugs No. No. 3 and 31 of the F49 socket. If the result of measurement does not exceed the limit of the range of 10 ÷ 15 V, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise check a condition of an electrical wiring on a site between the module of management of ABS and TCM. Make necessary recovery repair.

Check a state and reliability of fixing of contact sockets of modules of management of ABS and AT. In case of need smooth out plugs and pass to the following stage of check.

Switch off ignition. Restore initial connection of an electrical wiring. Clear memory of the processor and repeat procedure of reading of diagnostic codes. If no changes (towards improvement) happened, replace assembly of the module of the ABS management/hydromodulator. At emergence of new codes pass to the corresponding dough. If refusal did not repeat, therefore, malfunction was temporary, - once again make sure of reliability of fastening of all contact connections.

Violation of serviceability of functioning of the valvate relay (DTC 51)

Switch off ignition and disconnect an electrical wiring from the ABS control unit. Start the engine on single turns and measure tension between plugs No. No. 1 and 24 of the F49 socket of the module of management of ABS and mass of the chassis. If the result of measurement does not exceed the limit of the range of 10 ÷ 15 V, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise check a condition of an electrical wiring between the ABS control unit and the battery. Make necessary recovery repair.

Switch off ignition and measure resistance between the weight and the plug No. 23 of the F49 socket. If the result of measurement makes less than 0.5 Ohms, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise eliminate a cause of infringement of quality of grounding.

Measure resistance between No. No. 23 plugs (+) and 24 (-) of the socket of the module of management. If the result of measurement makes more than 1 megohm, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise replace the control unit.

Check serviceability of a state and reliability of fixing of contact sockets of an electrical wiring on the module of management of ABS, the generator and the battery. In case of need make the corresponding recovery repair. If violation of quality of contacts is absent, pass to the following stage of check.

Switch off ignition. Restore initial connection of an electrical wiring. Clear memory of the processor and repeat procedure of reading of diagnostic codes. If no changes (towards improvement) happened, replace assembly of the module of the ABS management/hydromodulator. At emergence of new codes pass to the corresponding dough. If refusal did not repeat, therefore, malfunction was temporary, - once again make sure of reliability of fastening of all contact connections.

Violation of serviceability of functioning driving elek-tromotora / its relay (DTC 52)

Switch off ignition. Disconnect an electrical wiring from the module of management of ABS, then again turn the ignition key in the situation ON and measure tension between the plug No. 25 of the F49 socket of the module of management and mass of the chassis. If the result of measurement does not exceed the limit of the range of 10 ÷ 15 V, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise make recovery repair of an electrical wiring on a site between the battery and the module the management/hydromodulator. Check the SBF holder of a safety lock.

Switch off ignition and measure resistance between the weight and the plug No. 26 of the F49 socket. If the result of measurement makes less than 0.5 Ohms, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise make recovery repair of a chain of grounding of the control unit.

Start the engine on single turns and measure tension between the plug No. 1 of the F49 socket and mass of the chassis. If the result of measurement does not exceed the limit of the range of 10 ÷ 15 V, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise check a condition of an electrical wiring on sites between the battery, the switch of ignition and the module of management of ABS. Make necessary recovery repair.

Switch off ignition and measure resistance between the weight and the plug No. 23 of the F49 socket. If the result of measurement makes less than 0.5 Ohms, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise eliminate a cause of infringement of quality of grounding.

During performance of check of sequence of operation of valves of the hydromodulator (see the Section Check of Sequence of Operation of Valves of the ABS Hydromodulator) aurally check serviceability of functioning of an electric motor. If the motor rotates regularly, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise replace assembly of the ABS modulator/control unit.

Check serviceability of a state and reliability of fixing of contact sockets of an electrical wiring on assembly of the module of the ABS management/hydromodulator, the generator and the battery. In case of need make the corresponding recovery repair. If violations of quality of contacts are absent, pass to the following stage of check.

Switch off ignition. Restore initial connection of an electrical wiring. Clear memory of the processor and repeat procedure of reading of diagnostic codes. If no changes (towards improvement) happened, replace assembly of the module of the ABS management/hydromodulator. At emergence of new codes pass to the corresponding dough. If refusal did not repeat, therefore, malfunction was temporary, - once again make sure of reliability of fastening of all contact connections.

Violation of serviceability of functioning of the sensor switch of stoplights (DTC 54)

Failure of the sensor switch of stoplights leads to violation of serviceability of functioning of ABS.

Check serviceability of operation of stoplights when squeezing a pedal of a foot brake. If everything is all right, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise check a condition of lamps and an electrical wiring of a chain of stoplights.

Switch off ignition. Disconnect an electrical wiring from the module of management of ABS. Squeeze out a pedal of a foot brake and measure tension between the plug No. 2 of the F49 socket of the module of management of ABS and mass of the chassis. If the result of measurement does not exceed the limit of the range of 10 ÷ 15 V, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise check a condition of an electrical wiring on a site between the sensor switch of stoplights and the module of management of ABS. Make necessary recovery repair.

Check a state and reliability of fixing of contact sockets of the sensor switch and control unit. In case of need make the corresponding corrections. If contacts as it should be, pass to the following stage of check.

Restore initial connection of an electrical wiring. Clear memory of the processor and repeat procedure of reading of diagnostic codes. If no changes (towards improvement) happened, replace assembly of the module of the ABS management/hydromodulator. At emergence of new codes pass to the corresponding dough. If refusal did not repeat, therefore, malfunction was temporary, - once again make sure of reliability of fastening of all contact connections.

Violation of serviceability of delivery of an output signal of the G-sensor (DTC 56)

 Failure of the G-sensor leads to violation of serviceability of functioning of ABS.

Towage of the car, and also poddomkrachivaniye with a full separation of wheels from the earth can lead it to entering in memory of the processor of the DTC 56 code.


Check marking of assembly of the module of the ABS management/hydromodulator, - the code is applied on a block surface between unions of connection of hydraulic lines and for models (see Specifications). If marking answers a complete set of your car, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise replace assembly of the module of the ABS management/hydromodulator.

Switch off ignition. Remove the central console (see the Head Kuzov). Otboltite the G-sensor, without disconnecting from it an electrical wiring. Again turn the ignition key in the situation ON and measure tension between No. No. 1 plugs (+) and 3 (-) from the outer side of the contact R70 socket of the sensor. If the result of measurement does not exceed the limit of range 4.75 ÷ 5.25 In, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise check a condition of an electrical wiring on a site between the sensor and the module of management of ABS. Make necessary recovery repair.


Switch off ignition. Disconnect an electrical wiring from the module of management of ABS and measure resistance between plugs No. No. 6 and 28 of the F49 socket of the module of management. If the result of measurement does not exceed the limit of the range of 4.3 ÷ 4.9 kOhm, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise make necessary recovery repair of an electrical wiring on a site between the sensor and the module of an uparlveniye of ABS.

Disconnect an electrical wiring from the G-sensor. Measure resistance between the plug No. 6 of the F49 socket and mass of the chassis. If the result of measurement makes more than 1 megohm, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise make necessary recovery repair of an electrical wiring on a site between the sensor and the module of management of ABS.

Measure tension between the plug No. 6 of the F49 socket and mass of the chassis. If the result of measurement makes less than 1 V, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise make necessary recovery repair of an electrical wiring on a site between the sensor and the module of management of ABS.

Repeat the last check at the included ignition. If the result of measurement makes less than 1 V, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise make necessary recovery repair of an electrical wiring on a site between the sensor and the ABS module.

Measure resistance between the weight and the plug No. 28 of the F49 socket. If the result of measurement makes more than 1 megohm, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise make necessary recovery repair of an electrical wiring on a site between the sensor and the module of management of ABS. If an electrical wiring as it should be, replace assembly of the module of management / the hydraulic modulator.

Switch off ignition and, without disconnecting an electrical wiring, otboltit the G-sensor. Check reliability of fixing of contact sockets of the sensor and module of management of ABS. Include ignition and measure tension between plugs No. 2 (+) and No. 3 (-) of the sensor R70 socket. If the result of measurement does not exceed the limit of range 2.1 ÷ 2.4 In, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise replace the sensor.

Incline the sensor at an angle 90 ° forward and repeat the check described above. If the result of measurement does not exceed the limit of range 3.7 ÷ 4.1 In, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise replace the sensor.

Incline the sensor at an angle 90 ° back and still repeat check. If the result of measurement does not exceed the limit of range 0.5 ÷ 0.9 In, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise replace the sensor.

Switch off ignition. Check a state and reliability of fixing of contact sockets of the G-sensor and ABS module. In case of need make the corresponding recovery repair. If contact connections as it should be, pass to the following stage of check.

Restore initial connection of an electrical wiring. Clear memory of the processor and repeat procedure of reading of diagnostic codes. If no changes (towards improvement) happened, replace assembly of the module of the ABS management/hydromodulator. At emergence of new codes pass to the corresponding dough. If refusal did not repeat, therefore, malfunction was temporary, - once again make sure of reliability of fastening of all contact connections.

Reading of codes of malfunctions (DTC) of ABS

Reading of the DTC codes with application of SSM

Prepare the reader SSM for work.

Connect a diagnostic cable to SSM and fill a cartridge.

Connect the diagnostic SSM cable to the DLC socket located at the left under the car dashboard.

Turn the ignition key in the situation ON (the engine do not start) and include food of SSM.

In the main menu ("Main Menu") of the screen of the reader choose the section {Each System Check} and press the YES key.

Reading of the DTC codes without application of SSM

Take the diagnostic socket close to the block of a heater of a driver's seat.

Switch off ignition and connect the diagnostic plug to the socket plug No. 8.

Include ignition, the control lamp of ABS will pass into the diagnostic mode and will start removing the codes of malfunctions (DTC) brought in memory of the processor in the flashing mode.

The first always removes a code of the beginning of check (11), then all other codes, starting with the last are serially removed. After a conclusion of the last code the cycle is repeated within 3 minutes. Examples of a conclusion of codes are given on an illustration. In the absence of the codes which are written down in memory the control lamp will remove only a starting code (11).

With the module of management of ABS identification of problems the relevant information (to three codes) is brought in EER ROM. In the presence more than three refusals only three last remain. Codes continue to be stored in memory of the processor before its cleaning (see below).




Removal of codes from memory of the processor

With use of SSM

In the main menu ("Main Menu") of the reader SSM select item { 2. Each System Check } also press the YES key.

In the field of "System Select Menu" select item {Brake System}, press YES, wait for a conclusion to the screen of data on the ABS type, then once again press the YES key.

In the field of "Brake Control Diagnosis" of the screen select item {Clear Memory} and confirm a choice with pressing the YES key.

After on the screen of the reader messages of "Done" are displayed also "Turn ignition OFF" (Switch off ignition) (Is executed), power off SSM and switch off ignition.

Without application of SSM

After reading of ABS of the DTC codes removed by a control lamp disconnect the diagnostic plug from the plug No. 8 of the diagnostic socket.

Within about 12 seconds repeat procedure of connection/shutdown of the plug with a duration of each phase (Vkl and Vykl) of not less than 0.2 pages three times.

The successful completion of cleaning of memory is confirmed by highlighting a control lamp of a code 11.
