Scheme of the organization of the drive of the parking brake

 


All models of cars considered in the present manual are equipped with hydraulic brake system with vacuum strengthening. Both on forward, and on back wheels of the car brake mechanisms of a disk design are installed.

All brake mechanisms are equipped with self-regulators.

The hydraulic system consists of two independent contours, - forward and back. In case of refusal one of contours, the second continues to function, providing to the car adequate braking. The scheme of connection of hydraulic lines of brake system is submitted on an illustration.

The special control lamp which is built in in an instrument guard notifies the driver on violation of serviceability of functioning of brake system, and also on excessive falling of level of brake fluid.

Main Brake Cylinder (MBC)

GTTs is established on the assembly of the servo-driver of the vacuum amplifier of brakes fixed on a back partition of a motive compartment. From above the big tank of hydraulic liquid equipped with a tight plastic cover is located on the cylinder.

GTTs has the dual design providing functioning of two independent hydraulic contours. Liquid pressure in each of contours is forced by the individual piston in the main cylinder.

In hermetically executed GTTs tank the liquid level sensor switch is built in. When lowering level of brake fluid below some limit the sensor switch provides operation of the control lamp which is built in in a combination of devices. The sensor switch has a reed design with the permanent magnet which is built in a float and is normal opened. Until the float settles down above the reed switch, the contour of a control lamp remains opened. When falling level of liquid is about 30 mm lower than the maximum mark the float with the magnet which is built in it is combined with the reed switch, providing activation of the last and, respectively, short circuit of a chain of a control lamp.

 The strong list and rocking of the car during the movement can bring to short-term operations of a control lamp.


Vacuum amplifier of brakes

The amplifier uses the depression created in the inlet pipeline for increase of efficiency of functioning of a hydraulic actuator of brake system. The servo-driver of the vacuum amplifier is fixed on a back partition of a motive compartment in the last. The vacuum amplifier "8 inches + 9 inches" is included in the standard package of all models.

Parking brake


The hummock drive of the parking brake is brought to brake mechanisms of back wheels of the car, - driving cables fasten to executive levers of brake boots of the parking brake.

Antiretractable system


The antiretractable system serves for simplification of start-off of the car standing on rise (see the Section Antiretractable system - the device, the principle of functioning and a precautionary measure).

System of anti-blocking of brakes (ABS)


ABS prevents premature blocking of wheels of the car at sharp braking (see the Section System of Anti-blocking of Brakes (ABS) - the general information, the principle of functioning).

System of dynamic stabilization (VDC)


VDC (see the Section System of Dynamic Stabilization (VDC) - the general information, the principle of functioning) provides increase of stability of the movement of the vehicle at the movement on a slippery paving or commission of the sharp maneuvers connected, for example, with a detour of obstacles in high speed. In the work of VDC uses the ABS functions and, besides functions of direct appointment, carries out also function of antiprobuksovochny system / monitoring system of draft (TCS).

Service of brake system

Upon completion of any of procedures of service connected with removal or dismantling any of components of brake system without fail check efficiency of functioning of brake system and, having only made sure of full serviceability of its operation, start operation of the car. Trial runs should be made on a pure dry and equal paving.

Check efficiency of braking of the vehicle at various speeds of the movement and various efforts of squeezing of a pedal of a foot brake. The car has to be stopped evenly, keeping thus course stability. Try not to allow premature blocking of wheels, fraught loss of control over management.

Remember that the state and pressure of a rating of tires, level of loading of the car and correctness of geometry of a suspension bracket belong to number of the factors making impact on efficiency of braking of the vehicle.

Precautionary measures

At service of components of brake system of cars it is necessary to observe some special precautionary measures:
a) For gas station of brake system use only hydraulic liquid of the class DOT 3;
b) Frictional overlays of brake blocks / boots may contain unhealthy asbestos. Try not to inhale brake dust, do not blow off it compressed air. Apply to rubbing of components of brake mechanisms only the special cleaning structures;
c) Watch observance of all demanded admissions and efforts of a tightening of fixture. At service of components use only the serviceable tool. At the slightest doubts ask for the help experts. Remember that serviceability of functioning of brakes is guarantee of traffic safety;
d) At the slightest signs of violation of serviceability of functioning of brake system operation of the car has to be suspended!
