Subaru Legacy/Outback

1. Remove a brake disk (see the Section Removal, check of a state and installation of back brake disks).
2. Remove returnable springs of boots of the parking brake.

3. By means of a screw-driver with a flat sting remove the directing spring and an anchor finger of a forward boot of the parking brake.

4. Remove a razzhimny level with the spring.
5. Remove the directing spring and an anchor finger of a back boot of the parking brake.
6. Take off brake boots.

7. Disconnect a driving cable from the executive lever of the parking brake.

8. Having hooked a screw-driver, remove a lock ring and separate the executive lever from a boot, - try not to lose a spring washer.
9. Check a condition of a contact surface of a drum of a brake disk. In case of identification of deep furrows, zadir and other damages replace a disk.
10. Measure the internal diameter of a drum. Compare result of measurement to standard requirements (Nominal rate: 170 mm; limit admissible value: In 171 mm), in case of need replace a disk.
11. Measure the residual thickness of frictional overlays of brake boots. Compare results of measurements to standard requirements (Nominal rate: 3.2 mm; limit admissible value: 1.5 oo), in case of need replace boots in a set for both brake mechanisms.

1. Remove a rubber cap of a service opening from the back party of a brake board, pass a suitable screw-driver throughout an opening and, rotating it the adjusting screw, achieve pressing of boots to a contact surface of a drum, then release the adjusting screw on 3-4 teeth back.
2. Having finished adjustment, establish into place a cap.
3. Check correctness of adjustment of the lever of raising of the parking brake, in case of need make the corresponding adjustment (see the Section Removal, installation, check of a state and adjustment of the lever of the drive of the parking brake).
