Check of a condition of components of a suspension bracket

 The condition of components of a suspension bracket and the steering drive has to be made regularly as their wear or damage can be the reason of reduction of service life of tires, conduct to decrease in controllability of the car and increase of fuel consumption. Detailed illustrative material is presented also in the Head Podvesk and a steering.


The checks made without separation of wheels from the earth

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Park the car on an equal horizontal platform, whenever possible with a hard coating, develop forward wheels in rectilinear situation. Slightly pull a steering wheel in both directions, - the excessive size of the side play taking place indicates possible wear of wheel bearings, collars of hinges of shaft of a steering column, bearings of rotary fists, or tips of steering drafts. Also the probability of violation of adjustment or damage of components of rack transfer is not excluded (see the Head Podvesk and a steering).
2. Can point to wear or damage of components of a suspension bracket or the steering drive also such symptoms as excessive rocking of the car at the movement on the rough road or during commission of turns, jamming of a steering wheel, etc.
3. For an assessment of a condition of shock-absorbers press one of car corners down. At a corner otpuskaniye the body has to come back to a starting position, making no more than one-two fluctuations. Listen to the scratch and other extraneous noises published by a suspension bracket at oscillating motions of a body. Excessive quantity of raskachivaniye of a body at a corner otpuskaniye, as well as refusal of its return to a starting position, testify to need of replacement of shock-absorbers. Working in a similar manner, serially check each of four shock-absorbers.


Check of height of provision of wheel arches

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Unload all baggage from the car and leave it completely filled and equipped.
2. Check height of wheel arches (see the Head Podvesk and a steering), compare results of measurements to requirements of Specifications.
3. If height of an arch of a wheel does not correspond to standards, check a condition of components of a suspension bracket (racks/shock-absorbers) and body elements to which they fasten. Replace defective components.
4. In the absence of the deformed components adjust height of arches by replacement of the corresponding screw springs of a suspension bracket.


Check of corners of installation of forward wheels

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Check geometry of a forward suspension bracket and make sure of compliance to the accepted norms of corners of installation of wheels (convergence, disorder, a corner of a longitudinal inclination of an axis of turn of a wheel [vybeg], angles of rotation of wheels).
2. If the corner of a longitudinal inclination of an axis of turn of a wheel does not correspond to standard value, visually estimate a condition of components of a suspension bracket (assembly of forward racks, a cross beam, cross levers and so forth) and body elements to which they fasten. Replace defective components.
3. If convergence and disorder do not correspond to standard values, make the corresponding adjustments (see the Head Podvesk and a steering).
4. If the left and right angles of rotation of wheels do not correspond to standard values, make the corresponding adjustments (see the Head Podvesk and a steering).


Check of corners of installation of back wheels

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Check geometry of a forward suspension bracket and make sure of compliance to the accepted norms of corners of installation of wheels (convergence, disorder, a corner of a course deviation).
2. If the corner of disorder does not correspond to standard value, visually estimate a condition of components of a suspension bracket (draft [forward, back and top], the back lever, a stretcher, shock-absorbers and so forth) and body elements to which they fasten. Replace defective components.
3. If convergence and a corner of a course deviation do not correspond to standard values, make the corresponding adjustments (see the Head Podvesk and a steering).


The checks made with a separation of wheels from the earth

 In regions where in the winter on roads apply salt to thawing of snow, check suspension bracket elements regarding corrosion development each 12 months after the expiration of 60 months from the moment of the beginning of operation. If it is necessary, apply measures for prevention of emergence of corrosion.


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

2. Check protectors of wheels for existence of traces of uneven wear, estimate pressure of a rating of tires.

3. Address to materials of the Head Podvesk and a steering. Estimate a condition of cardan hinges of a steering column. Check protective covers of the steering mechanism and power shafts for existence of signs of leak of greasing. Check reliability of landing of tips of steering drafts. Check a condition of all components of a suspension bracket and reliability of a tightening of their fixture. After an otdavaniye samokontryashchikhsya nuts and bolts, replace them new. Estimate degree of wear of rubber components of a suspension bracket and the steering drive. Check maslozapolnenny plugs of levers of a suspension bracket for existence of signs of leaks, in case of need make replacement. 4. Manually rotating forward wheels, try to define aurally a condition of wheel bearings, make sure of lack of a side play at rotation of wheels. Grasp a wheel in points on 12 and for 6 hours and pull it in the axial plane, - existence of a little noticeable free wheeling testifies to weakening of a pretightness of wheel bearings.
5. Hooking components mount, estimate a condition of bearings of assemblies of rotary fists. In case of identification of a side play bearings should be subjected to more detailed studying, to make replacement or stuffing them fresh greasing.
6. Estimate degree of wear of universal hinges and the sliding couplings of driveshafts (see the Head Stsepleniye).
7. Examine surfaces of cases of transmission on existence of signs of development of leaks.


Check of a condition of spherical support of cross levers of a suspension bracket

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Grasp bottom edge of a wheel and pull it back and forth, - existence of a side play of a brake board of rather cross lever of a suspension bracket, testifies to excessive wear of a spherical support.

2. Grasp the end of the cross lever and pull it up-down, - presence of a side play of the lever of rather rotary fist also indicates the need of careful check of a condition of a spherical support.

3. At negative results of both checks remove a spherical support (see the Head Podvesk and a steering on a disk 2) and measure the size of a free wheeling of a spherical finger (see the Head Podvesk and a steering). Compare result of measurement to requirements of Specifications, in case of need replace spherical support (better in a set).

4. Visually estimate a condition of a boot of a spherical support. At identification of mechanical damages, remove the cross lever and measure the size of a free wheeling of her finger (see the Head Podvesk and a steering). Compare result of measurement to requirements of Specifications, in case of need replace spherical support (better in a set).

 After removal or replacement of a spherical support it is necessary to check the size of a convergence of forward wheels, - in case of need make the corresponding adjustment.


5. Check of a condition of components of the steering drive (each 25 000 km [15 000 miles] of run or time in 12 months)
