Schedule of routine maintenance of Subaru Legacy and Outback cars The intervals of routine maintenance of the car stipulated in the present Section are calculated on independent performance by the owner of the vehicle of all necessary procedures. Duration of intervals was defined proceeding from the assumption that the car is operated in the daily mode. Constantly to support the vehicle in dive of a form, some of procedures at desire of the owner can be carried out slightly more often. Authors of the present manual are sure that receiving the maximum return from the power unit of the car and its other knots and systems can achieve only on condition of a conscientious attitude of the owner to care of the vehicle. It is worth to remember as well about need of maintenance of a trade dress of the car on a case of its resale.At operation of the car in the conditions of strongly dusty district, an intense city cycle (frequent short trips), and also at frequent towage of the trailer, intervals of performance of procedures of routine maintenance have to be, whenever possible, reduced to a minimum. Servicing of the new vehicle, in order to avoid violation of factory guarantee certificates, has to be made at firm car repair shop of the company manufacturer of the car. Through the first 1600 km (1000 miles) of run · Check installation of quality of mix of idling (for models without catalytic converter) (see the Section Check and adjustment of composition of mix of idling, - a stern of the models equipped with the catalytic converter). · Check serviceability of functioning of the antiretractable device (see the Section Check and adjustment of the antiretractable device). Through the first 5000 km (3000 miles) of run · Make replacement of motive oil and an oil filter (only for models of 3.0 l with the GRM chain drive) (see the Section Replacement of Motive Oil and Oil Filter). Through each 12 500 km (7500 miles) of run or times in 12 months (that will come earlier) · Make replacement of motive oil and an oil filter (for all models) (see the Section Replacement of Motive Oil and Oil Filter). · Check a condition of the hoses laid in a motive compartment (see the Section Check of a State and Replacement of the hoses located in a motive compartment) *. · Make rotation of wheels (see the Section Rotation of Wheels) *. · Grease chassis components (see the Section Greasing of Components of the Chassis) *. · Check a condition of components of system of production of the fulfilled gases (see the Section Check of a Condition of Components of System of Production of the Fulfilled Gases) *. · Check a condition of seat belts (see the Section Check of a Condition of Seat Belts) *. Through each 100 000 km (60 000 miles) of run or times in 48 months (that will come earlier) In addition to the checks listed in the previous subsection: · Make replacement of a gas-distributing belt (for l models 2.0 and 2.5) (see the Section Check of a State and Replacement of a Gas-distributing Belt - l models 2.0 and 2.5). · Check a condition of a power supply system and make replacement of the fuel filter (see the Sections Check and replacement of the fuel filter). · Make replacement of spark plugs (for models of 3.0 l) (see the Section Check of a State and Replacement of Spark Plugs and Electrical Wiring VV). · Check a condition of wheel bearings, in case of need make stuffing them fresh greasing (it is recommended for safe operation of the car) (see the Section Check of Wheel Bearings). · Check valvate gaps (for the European models) (see the Section Check of Valvate Gaps). At operation of the car in strongly dusty district make replacement of the air filter more often than it is stipulated in Graphics. The ATF filter is not served part and needs replacement only in case of its mechanical damage or leakage of ATF.
