When checking serviceability of functioning of the SRS components by results of reading of diagnostic codes (DTC) special diagnostic plaits (And, F, G, N, K and I or I2), and also the feigning SRS resistor which resistance is similar to safety cushion module resistance can be necessary.
The scheme of an arrangement of the electric SRS components and the card of identification of sockets of an electrical wiring of SRS are presented on an illustration and in table 18.

System of self-diagnostics of SRS
Check of serviceability of functioning of a control lamp of SRS/AIR BAG
Include ignition, - the control lamp of SRS has to light up and remain with the burning state within about 6 seconds. Refusal of a lamp of switching off testifies that the block of self-diagnostics of SRS revealed malfunction which code is brought in memory of the processor (see below).

Include ignition (the engine do not start).

Connect the diagnostic plug to the plug No. 2 of the diagnostic socket located around the lower cover of a driver's seat. |
Reading of the codes which are written down in memory of the module of self-diagnostics is made by calculation of gleams of a control lamp of SRS/AIR BAG. A long gleam (1.2 c) corresponds decimal (10), short (0.3 c), - to single categories of numerical DTC value. So, the code 12 will look as follows: one long gleam + two short.
Codes are highlighted three times with intervals of 1.2 pages. Write down only a few sequence, then switch off ignition, disconnect the diagnostic plug, analyse codes (see below) and make necessary recovery repair.
The code conclusion in the form of uniform gleams lasting 0.6 with with an interval also of 0.6 pages testifies to a working order of system.
Switch off ignition, disconnect the diagnostic plug, wind it with an adhesive tape and return to a starting position.
Cleaning of memory of the block of self-diagnostics
Having finished works on correction debugged, repeat procedure of reading of codes of malfunctions.
Make sure that ignition is included and connect the diagnostic plug to the plug No. 2 of the diagnostic socket.
During highlighting of codes a control lamp at least for 3 seconds connect the second diagnostic plug to the plug No. 3 of the diagnostic socket. As soon as memory of the module of management is cleared, the control lamp will start highlighting a code of a working order of system. Refusal of a lamp of transition to the mode of a uniform blinking testifies to preservation in memory of the module of management of codes of refusals, - execute the corresponding corrections, then repeat memory cleaning procedure.
Having finished cleaning of memory of the module of management, disconnect diagnostic plugs, wind them with an adhesive tape and return to starting positions.

The control lamp of ABS is not activated at ignition inclusion
Try to include ignition, without making start of the engine, - if the other, being a part combinations of devices, control lamps work regularly, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise it is necessary to make the necessary recovery device of an instrument guard.
Take a safety lock 5 in the main assembly block of safety locks and check its state. Replace the fused safety lock. If the safety lock is serviceable, pass to the following stage of check.
Disconnect SRS (see the Section System of Additional Safety (SRS) - the device and the principle of functioning), then disunite contact couple of AB1/B31. Connect a negative wire to the battery and include ignition if the control lamp lights up, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise replace a lamp, or the printed-circuit board of a combination of devices (see the Section Removal, service and installation of a combination of devices, check of a condition of components).
Disconnect SRS (see the Section System of Additional Safety (SRS) - the device and the principle of functioning), then connect AB1 and B31 sockets and disunite the AB6 socket of the module of management of SRS. Connect a negative wire to the battery and include ignition, - if the control lamp lights up, replace the module of management, otherwise replace the main plait of an electrical wiring of SRS.
The control lamp of ABS is not disconnected after implementation of start of the engine
Disconnect SRS (see the Section System of Additional Safety (SRS) - the device and the principle of functioning), then remove an overlay of a threshold of a driver's door (see the Head Kuzov) and check reliability of contact connection of AB1/B31 sockets. In case of need make necessary recovery repair, or replace the main plait of an electrical wiring of SRS. If sockets as it should be, pass to the following stage of check.
Not including ignition, connect the socket 1A of a diagnostic plait of Joint stock company to the B31 socket of a body electrical wiring. Connect a negative wire to the battery and include ignition. Connect sockets 3A and 4A of a diagnostic plait And if the control lamp of SRS goes out, the following stage of check can be passed.
Check a condition of a plait of a body electrical wiring, make the corresponding recovery repair. If an electrical wiring as it should be, replace the printed-circuit board of a combination of devices (see the Section Removal, service and installation of a combination of devices, check of a condition of components).

After elimination debugged disunite sockets 3A and 4A. |
Estimate reliability of contact between the module of a safety cushion and the AB6 socket. In case of need make the corresponding recovery repair of the main plait of an electrical wiring of SRS. If no violations are revealed, pass to the following stage of check.
Disconnect SRS (see the Section System of Additional Safety (SRS) - the device and the principle of functioning), then connect AB1 and B31 sockets and disunite contact couple of AB3/AB8. Take two clamps, lower a ware box and disunite contact couple of AB9/AB10 (see in the same place). Disconnect the AB6 socket from the module of management of SRS and connect the socket 1I of a diagnostic plait of I or I2. Connect a negative wire to the battery, include ignition and connect among themselves sockets 4I and 5I of a diagnostic plait if the control lamp of SRS goes out, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise make necessary recovery repair of the main plait of an electrical wiring of SRS.

After elimination debugged do not forget to disunite sockets 4I and 5I. |
Disconnect SRS (see the Section System of Additional Safety (SRS) - the device and the principle of functioning), then connect contact couple of AB1/B31, connect the A1 socket of a diagnostic plait to the B31 socket And and measure resistance between plugs No. No. 17 and 18 of the socket 5A of a plait And and the mass of the chassis. If the result of measurement makes more than 10 Ohms, restore quality of grounding of a body on weight, otherwise pass to the final stage of check.
Restore connection of contact couple of AB1/B31, disconnect the AB6 socket from the module of management of SRS and connect the socket 1I of a diagnostic plait of I or I2. Measure resistance between plugs No. No. 9 and 10 of the socket 2I of a diagnostic plait and mass of the chassis. If the result of measurement makes less than 10 Ohms, replace the module of management, otherwise replace the main plait of an electrical wiring of SRS.

Remove the module of a driver's frontal safety cushion and connect the socket 1F of a diagnostic plait of F to the AB7 socket. Connect the feigning SRS resistor to F plait socket 3F. Connect a negative wire to the battery and include ignition, - at correct functioning of a control lamp replace the module of a driver's safety cushion, otherwise pass to the following stage of check. |
Disconnect SRS (see the Section System of Additional Safety (SRS) - the device and the principle of functioning). Disconnect a diagnostic plait from the AB7 socket, then remove the lower section of finishing of the dashboard, disunite contact couple of AB3/AB8 and connect F plait socket 1F to the AB8 socket. Connect the feigning SRS resistor to the socket 3F. Connect a negative wire to the battery and include ignition, - at correct functioning of a control lamp replace a contact drum, otherwise pass to the following stage of check.

Disunite the AB6 socket of the module of management of SRS and connect the socket 1I of a diagnostic plait of I or I2. Measure resistance between plugs No. 1/4 of the socket 2I of a plait of I and plugs No. 4/3 according to F plait socket 3F. If the result of measurement makes less than 10 Ohms, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise make replacement of the main plait of an electrical wiring of SRS.
Measure resistance between plugs No. No. 4 of sockets 2I and 3F. If the result of measurement makes less than 10 Ohms, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise replace the main plait of an electrical wiring of SRS.
Diagnostic code 12
Disconnect SRS (see the Section System of Additional Safety (SRS) - the device and the principle of functioning), take two clamps and remove a ware box (see the Head Kuzov). Disunite contact pair of the module of a passenger frontal safety cushion of AB9/AB10 and connect the socket 1F of a diagnostic plait of F to the AB9 socket. Connect the feigning SRS resistor to F plait socket 3F, then connect a negative wire to the battery and include ignition, - at correct functioning of a control lamp of SRS replace the module of a passenger safety cushion, otherwise pass to the following stage of check.
Disconnect SRS (see the Section System of Additional Safety (SRS) - the device and the principle of functioning), disconnect the feigning resistor from the socket 3F, remove the lower section of finishing of the dashboard and disunite contact couple of AB3/AB8 of an electrical wiring of the cable reel of a steering column. Disunite the AB6 socket of the module of management of SRS and connect the socket 1I of a diagnostic plait of I or I2. Measure resistance between plugs No. 2/5 of the socket 2I of a plait of I and plugs No. 4/3 according to F plait socket 3F. If the result of measurement makes less than 10 Ohms, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise make replacement of the main plait of an electrical wiring of SRS.
Measure resistance between the weight and plugs No. 2 and No. 5 of the socket 2I, and also between both these plugs and mass of the chassis. If the result of measurement makes more than 1 megohm, replace the module of management of SRS, otherwise replace the main plait of an electrical wiring.
Diagnostic code 15
Disconnect SRS (see the Section System of Additional Safety (SRS) - the device and the principle of functioning), disconnect the feigning resistor from the socket 3F of a diagnostic plait of F, remove a ware box (see the Head Kuzov) and disunite contact couple of AB10/AB9 of the module of a passenger safety cushion. Disunite the AB6 socket of the module of management of SRS and connect the socket 1I of a diagnostic plait of I or I2. Measure tension between plugs No. No. 4 and 1 of the socket 2I of a plait of I/I2 and mass of the chassis. If the result of measurement makes less than 1 V, the module of management of SRS, otherwise replace the main plait of an electrical wiring of SRS.
Diagnostic code 16
Disconnect SRS (see the Section System of Additional Safety (SRS) - the device and the principle of functioning), disconnect the feigning resistor from the socket 3F, remove the lower section of finishing of the dashboard and disunite contact couple of AB3/AB8 of an electrical wiring of the cable reel of a steering column. Disunite the AB6 socket of the module of management of SRS and connect the socket 1I of a diagnostic plait of I or I2. Measure tension between plugs No. No. 2 and 5 of the socket 2I of a plait of I/I2 and mass of the chassis, - if the result of measurement makes less than 1 V, replace the module of management of SRS, otherwise replace the main plait of an electrical wiring of SRS.
Diagnostic code 21
Presence at memory of the module of self-diagnostics of a code 21 testifies to need of performance of replacement of the module of management of SRS.
Diagnostic code 22
Presence at memory of the module of management of this DTC testifies to the fact of operation any of frontal safety cushions, or a natyazhitel of one of seat belts. Cleaning of memory of the module thus is not represented possible, - replace the module of management, the worked safety cushion, both forward SRS sensors and natyazhitel of seat belts of both seats.
Diagnostic code 23
Presence at memory of the module of management of this code testifies to violation of quality of contact connections of sockets of connection to the module of safety of frontal safety cushions and natyazhitel of seat belts. Disconnect SRS (see the Section System of Additional Safety (SRS) - the device and the principle of functioning), then disunite AB6, AB17 and AB18 sockets of the module of management of SRS and attentively study a condition of their contact plugs, also check a condition of the electrical wiring plaits brought to sockets. In case of identification of signs of development of corrosion of plugs replace the module of management, the main plait of an electrical wiring, or the damaged electrical wiring of natyazhitel of seat belts.
Connect sockets and make sure of reliability of their fixing. Connect a negative wire to the battery and include ignition, - at violation of serviceability of functioning of a control lamp of SRS replace the module of management.
Diagnostic code 24

Disconnect SRS (see the Section System of Additional Safety (SRS) - the device and the principle of functioning). Disunite the contact AB6 socket of the module of management and connect to it the socket 1I of a diagnostic plait of I1 or I2. Connect a negative wire to the battery, include ignition and measure tension between the plug No. 3 (+) of the socket 2I of a diagnostic plait and the mass of the chassis. If the result of measurement makes more than 10 V, replace the module of management, otherwise pass to the following stage of check.
Disconnect SRS (see the Section System of Additional Safety (SRS) - the device and the principle of functioning). Disunite contact couple of AB1/B31 and connect to the AB1 socket the socket 2A of a diagnostic plait of A. Izmerte resistance between the plug No. 9 of the socket 5A of a diagnostic plait And and the plug No. 3 of the socket 2I of a plait of I/I2. If the result of measurement makes less than 10 Ohms, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise replace the main plait of an electrical wiring of SRS.
Measure resistance between plugs No. 9 of the socket 5A of a plait А/№ 3 sockets 2I of a plait I/I2 and mass of the chassis if results of measurements make more than 1 megohm, pass to the final stage of check, otherwise replace the main plait of an electrical wiring of SRS.
Make sure that ignition is switched off and take from the nest in the connecting block and examine a safety lock No. 11. Replace the fused safety lock. If the safety lock in norm, or a replaceable safety lock at once fuses again, find and rectify faults in a plait of a body electrical wiring.

If the result of measurement makes less than 10 Ohms, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise replace the main plait of an electrical wiring of SRS.
Measure resistance between plugs No. 1 of the socket 5A of a plait А/№ 6 sockets 2I of a plait I/I2 and mass of the chassis if results of measurements make more than 1 megohm, pass to the final stage of check, otherwise replace the main plait of an electrical wiring of SRS.

Measure resistance between plugs No. No. 2 and 4 of the socket 3I of a plait of I/I2. If the result of measurement exceeds the limit of the range of 750 ÷ 1000 Ohms, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise replace the module of management of SRS.
Measure resistance between plugs No. No. 2 and 4 of the socket 3I of a plait of I/I2 and mass of the chassis. If the result of measurement makes less than 1 megohm, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise replace the module of management.
Disunite the AB16 socket of an electrical wiring of the right forward SRS sensor, connect to it the socket 1H of a diagnostic plait of N and measure between plugs No. No. 2 and 4 of the socket 3I of a plait of I/I2 and plugs No. No. 5 and 6 (according to) the socket 3H of a plait of N. If the result of measurement makes more than 10 Ohms, the following stage of check can be lowered.
Measure resistance between plugs No. No. 2 and 4 of the socket 3I and mass of the chassis. If the result of measurement makes less than 1 megohm, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise the following four stages can be lowered.
Remove a combination of devices (see the Section Removal, service and installation of a combination of devices, check of a condition of components) and disunite contact couple of AB14/AB15 and connect the socket 2F of a diagnostic plait of F to the AB14 socket. Measure resistance between plugs No. No. 2 and 4 of the socket 3I of a plait of I/I2 and plugs No. No. 6 and 5 (according to) F plait socket 3F, - if the result of measurement makes less than 1 megohm, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise replace the main plait of an electrical wiring of SRS.
Measure resistance between plugs No. No. 2 and 4 of the socket 3I of a plait of I/I2 and mass of the chassis, - if the result of measurement makes more than 1 megohm, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise replace the main plait of an electrical wiring of SRS.
Connect F plait socket 1F to the AB15 socket and measure resistance between plugs No. No. 3 and 4 of the socket 3F of a plait of F and plugs No. 5 and 6 (according to) the socket 3H of a plait of N. If the result of measurement makes less than 10 Ohms, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise replace a plait of an electrical wiring of the right forward SRS sensor.
Measure resistance between the weight and plugs No. No. 3 and 4 of the socket 3F of a plait of F and mass of the chassis, - if the result of measurement makes more than 1 megohm, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise replace a plait of an electrical wiring of the right forward SRS sensor.
Connect the socket 2H of a plait of N to the right forward SRS sensor and measure resistance between the plug No. 3 and the plug No. 4 of the socket 3H of a plait. If the result of measurement does not exceed the limit of the range of 750 ÷ 1000 Ohms, pass to the final stage of check, otherwise replace the sensor.
Measure resistance between plugs No. No. 3 and 4 of the socket 3H and mass of the chassis, - if the result of measurement makes less than 1 megohm, replace the right forward SRS sensor.

If the result of measurement makes more than 10 Ohms, the following stage of check can be lowered.
Measure resistance between plugs No. No. 3 and 1 of the socket 3I and mass of the chassis. If the result of measurement makes less than 1 megohm, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise the following four stages can be lowered.
Remove a combination of devices (see the Section Removal, service and installation of a combination of devices, check of a condition of components) and disunite contact couple of AB11/AB12 and connect the socket 2F of a diagnostic plait of F to the AB11 socket. Measure resistance between plugs No. No. 3 and 1 of the socket 3I of a plait of I/I2 and plugs No. No. 6 and 5 (according to) F plait socket 3F, - if the result of measurement makes less than 1 megohm, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise replace the main plait of an electrical wiring of SRS.
Measure resistance between plugs No. No. 3 and 1 of the socket 3I of a plait of I/I2 and mass of the chassis, - if the result of measurement makes more than 1 megohm, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise replace the main plait of an electrical wiring of SRS.
Connect F plait socket 1F to the AB12 socket and measure resistance between plugs No. No. 3 and 4 of the socket 3F of a plait of F and plugs No. 5 and 6 (according to) the socket 3H of a plait of N. If the result of measurement makes less than 10 Ohms, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise replace a plait of an electrical wiring of the left forward SRS sensor.
Measure resistance between the weight and plugs No. No. 3 and 4 of the socket 3F of a plait of F and mass of the chassis, - if the result of measurement makes more than 1 megohm, pass to the following stage of check, otherwise replace a plait of an electrical wiring of the left forward SRS sensor.

If the result of measurement does not exceed the limit of the range of 750 ÷ 1000 Ohms, pass to the final stage of check, otherwise replace the sensor.
Measure resistance between plugs No. No. 3 and 4 of the socket 3H and mass of the chassis, - if the result of measurement makes less than 1 megohm, replace the right forward SRS sensor.
