General information

For the drive of camshafts on engines of 3.0 l two chains, everyone them which are brought by both camshafts of the corresponding head of cylinders are used. The left chain transmits a torque to camshafts of the left head of cylinders directly from an asterisk of a cranked shaft, right – to camshafts of the right head through the lower intermediate asterisk given to rotation by the left chain. The lower intermediate asterisk is equipped two rows of teeth, on external from which the left chain, and on the internal – right attacks. By implementation of the similar scheme necessary synchronization of rotation of camshafts of both heads is reached.

The left gas-distributing chain is used also for the drive of the water pump.

The hydraulic automatic natyazhitel of a chain provides constant effort of a tension of the last that in turn guarantees both correctness of the drive of camshafts, and lack of need for regular service of the chain drive.

REMOVAL

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Details of installation of components of the GRM drive are shown on an illustration.
2. Remove a pulley of a cranked shaft (see the Section Removal and installation of a pulley of a cranked shaft).
3. Remove a forward cover of the GRM drive (see the Section Removal and installation of covers of the GRM drive).

4. Remove a natyazhitel of the right gas-distributing chain, make sure that the plunger (A) does not act from the assembly case.

5. Remove established between asterisks of camshafts sending to No. 1 of the right chain.

6. Remove sending to No. 2 and the lever of a natyazhitel of the right chain.

7. Remove the right chain.

8. Remove a natyazhitel of the left chain, make sure that the plunger (A) does not act from the assembly case.

9. Remove the lever of a natyazhitel of the left chain.

10. Remove sending to No. 1 of the left chain.

11. Remove sending to No. 2 of the left chain.

12. Remove central sending to a chain.

13. Remove the top intermediate asterisk.
14. Remove the left chain.
15. Remove the lower intermediate asterisk.

INSTALLATION

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

 Try to exclude completely probability of confusion at installation of components. On the course of installation grease directing, levers of natyazhitel and intermediate asterisks of chains with motive oil.

1. If sorted a natyazhitel, install the screw, a spring, a pin, and an adjusting rod in his case. Densely pressing a natyazhitel to a rubber mat and turning it to the right-to the left, drown against the stop a rod and record it in this situation by means of a lock core of suitable thickness.

2. By means of a special nozzle (ST 18252AA000) develop an asterisk of a cranked shaft an adjusting tag for 9 hours.

3. By means of a key of ST 18231AA000 develop asterisks of camshafts shponochny grooves up (for 12 hours).


4. Rotating a cranked shaft in the direction clockwise, develop it an adjusting tag on an asterisk on its asterisk in the provision of 12 hours, the corresponding VMT of the piston of the first cylinder.

 Attention: Try not to allow changes of provisions of asterisks cranked and camshafts until completion of installation of chains!

5. Establish the lower intermediate asterisk and tighten a bolt of its fastening with the demanded effort (69 Nanometers).

6. Having achieved combination adjusting a gilded link of the left chain (And) with an adjusting tag (In) on an asterisk of a cranked shaft, put a chain on an asterisk.

7. Pass the left driving chain under the lower intermediate asterisk and an asterisk of the drive of the water pump, then serially throw with it asterisks of final and inlet camshafts (act as transfer of components).

 Attention: Track correctness of combination of the chain links allocated in the color with adjusting tags on asterisks cranked and camshafts.

8. Establish the top intermediate asterisk and tighten a bolt of its fastening with the demanded effort (69 Nanometers).
9. Establish sending to No. 1 of the left chain and tighten bolts of its fastening with the demanded effort (6.4 Nanometers).

 At installation use a new bolt.

10. Establish sending to No. 2 of the left chain and tighten bolts of its fastening with the demanded effort (16 Nanometers).
11. Install the lever of a natyazhitel of the left chain and tighten a bolt of its fastening with the demanded effort (16 Nanometers).
12. Establish a natyazhitel of the left driving chain and tighten bolts of its fastening with the demanded effort (16 Nanometers).

13. Having achieved combination of the links of both chains (D) allocated in the color around the lower intermediate asterisk, put on the last right chain, then throw with it asterisks inlet and final (as transfer) camshafts of the right head of cylinders.

14. Make sure of correctness of placement of gilded links of a chain on asterisks of camshafts.

15. Establish sending to No. 2 and the lever of a natyazhitel of the right chain and tighten fixing bolts with the demanded effort (16 Nanometers).
16. Establish sending to No. 1 of the right chain and tighten NEW bolts of its fastening with the demanded effort (16 Nanometers).
17. Establish a natyazhitel of the right chain and tighten bolts of its fastening with the demanded effort (6.4 Nanometers).
18. Establish central directing, having adjusted a gap between it and the right chain sending to No. 2 in the range of 8.4 ÷ 8.6 mm. Tighten NEW bolts of fastening central directing with the demanded effort (7.8 Nanometers).
19. Having made sure of correctness of combination of all adjusting tags (see above), take a lock core from a natyazhitel of a chain.
