Check and adjustment of valvate gaps

CHECK

See the Head Routine maintenance.

ADJUSTMENT

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

Adjustment of valvate gaps has to be carried out on the cold engine.

1. By means of the special ST 18252AA000 tool turn a cranked shaft in the direction clockwise, achieving that the subject drive cam to valve check was developed by a working ledge under 90 ° to a face surface of a pusher.
2. By means of the probe of lezviyny type measure the size of a valvate gap. Compare results of measurements to requirements of Specifications. In case of need make necessary adjustments (see further).
3. Remove an adjusting washer from a pusher of the corresponding valve.

4. Prepare the special adaptation for replacement of adjusting washers (ST 18329AA000).

5. Develop pushers selections under 45 °.

6. Having achieved combination of the correct combination with selection, install the ST 18329AA000 adaptation on a valve pusher.

Track that the edge of the adaptation did not concern an adjusting washer.

7. Tighten bolts (A) and (In) adaptations.

8. Having filled tweezers in selection in a pusher, take an adjusting washer.

Alternatively the washer can be taken by means of a magnet that in an essential measure reduces probability of falling of a washer.

9. Measure by a micrometer thickness of the removed washer.
10. Based on result of the last measurement and data on the size of a valvate gap obtained earlier, make selection of a new washer (see the table given below), - be guided by the following formulas:

· For inlet valves: S = (V + T) – 0.20 (mm)
· For final valves: S = (V + T) – 0.25 (mm)
Where: S - thickness of the used washer, V – the measured valvate gap, T – the demanded washer thickness.
11. Establish the chosen washer on a pusher.
12. Once again measure gap size, in case of need repeat adjustment.
13. Working in a similar manner, adjust gaps of all valves.

Turn a cranked shaft only in the direction clockwise!

14. Having finished adjustment, establish the removed components as it should be, the return to an order of their dismantle.
