General information

The design of an automatic natyazhitel of a belt of the GRM drive is shown on an illustration.

Adjusting assembly from the block of a natyazhitel and a basic arm. The device serves for automatic maintenance of effort of a tension of a belt at the certain level for the correct transfer as a belt of a torque, decrease in level of noise during the operation of the engine and increase in service life of elements of the GRM drive.

The adjusting rod, compensation ring, plunger, returnable spring and control ball are a part of the cylinder of a natyazhitel. The cavity of assembly is filled with silicone (kremniyorganichesky) oil.

The principle of functioning of a natyazhitel is described below.

Principle of functioning

When weakening effort of a tension of a belt the adjusting rod is wrung out by a returnable spring up, thus the oil which is in a cylinder receiver under pressure determined by the effort developed by a plunger spring pushes out a control ball and flows in a squeezing chamber. As a result pressure is supported to constants.

Under the influence of force of F developed by the moving-forward adjusting rod the torque in the direction counterclockwise is put to an arm of a natyazhitel. The tension roller which is developed together with an arm wrings out a belt with the effort of Pb generating force of reaction of a Tb belt and, - as a result, - force of reaction P in a point of application of effort of a rod of the regulator.

Under the influence of force P rod of a natyazhitel will be wrung out until there comes the total balance of force of F and effort developed by oil pressure in a squeezing chamber. As a result, the effort of a tension of a belt is supported to constants.

At excessive increase of effort of a tension of a belt force of P becomes more than force of F and oil gradually comes back from a squeezing chamber to a receiver until the demanded balance is reached.
