Removal and installation of a belt of the GRM drive, check of a condition of components

General information

The drive of camshafts of both heads of cylinders is carried out by one gear belt. The reverse (smooth) side of the same belt is used for the drive of the water pump.

Teeths of a driving belt have specially developed rounded profile promoting decrease in the general noise background. The basis of a belt is made by the strong and rigid fibers covered with waterproof fabric and heat-resistant rubber.

The effort of a tension of a gas-distributing belt is supported automatically by means of a hydraulic natyazhitel. Need for any manual adjustments is absent.

REMOVAL

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Details of installation of components of the GRM drive are shown on sopr. illustrations.
2. Take off a V-shaped belt (see the Head Routine maintenance).
3. Remove a pulley of a cranked shaft (see the Section Removal and installation of a pulley of a cranked shaft).
4. Remove the left section of a forward cover of the GRM drive (see the Section Removal and installation of forward covers of the GRM drive).

5. On models remove from RKPP directing a GRM belt.

6. If the adjusting tag (a) and/or an arrow showing the direction of rotation of a belt were erased, they need to be put independently.

7. By means of the special tool (ST 499987500) turn cranked valdo combination of an adjusting tag of a cogwheel of a cranked shaft (a) with reciprocal risky on the block of cylinders (b). Make sure that an adjusting tag of a cogwheel of the right camshaft (c) it is combined with the line of a joint (d) of a cover of a camshaft and head of cylinders, or that the adjusting tag of a cogwheel of the left camshaft (e) is combined with reciprocal risky on a cover of the GRM (f) drive.

8. Apply with white paint on a belt necessary marking (opposite to tags on zubaty wheels of shaft). In case of need mark also the direction of rotation of a belt.

9. Remove the lower intermediate roller.

10. Remove an intermediate cogwheel.

11. Take off a gas-distributing belt.

12. Remove the top intermediate roller.

13. Remove assembly of an automatic natyazhitel of a belt.

INSTALLATION

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. A press, with effort of 30 kg, wring out a rod of a natyazhitel in the case before combination of lock openings.

 Do not try to wring out a rod of an automatic natyazhitel in a vice – use a press of vertical type. Watch that the effort was put strictly parallel to an axis of a rod and did not exceed value of 1 t! Wring out a rod slowly and evenly for not less than three minutes with effort about 30 kg. Not to an utaplivayta the rod is lower than a face surface of the cylinder. Before dumping pressure in the press, make sure of reliability of fixing of a rod a lock finger.

2. Record a rod in the wrung-out situation, having passed a six-sided prutkovy key or a metal finger with a diameter about 2 mm throughout openings.

3. Establish assembly of the automatic regulator of a tension of a belt on the regular place, shift it against the stop and tighten fixture with the demanded effort (39 Nanometers).

4. Establish the top intermediate roller and tighten a bolt of its fastening with the demanded effort (39 Nanometers).

5. By means of special tools (ST 499207100 and ST 499207400) develop cogwheels according to right and the left camshafts adjusting tags (A) up.

6. Having achieved combination of the tags applied on the back party of a belt (B) with adjusting tags (A) accurately put on a belt cogwheels, - track observance of the initial direction of rotation of a belt.


7. Establish an intermediate cogwheel and tighten a bolt of its fastening it with the demanded effort (39 Nanometers).
8. Establish the lower intermediate roller and tighten a bolt of its fastening it with the demanded effort (39 Nanometers).

9. Once again make sure of correctness of combination of tags of a belt then take the lock finger holding a rod of a natyazhitel in the wrung-out situation.

 Having finished installation of a belt, uncover heads of cylinders and make sure of lack of air in regulators of valvate gaps.

10. On models with RKPP establish directing a belt of the GRM drive and temporarily tighten bolts of its fastening.
11. By means of the probe of lezviyny type check a gap between a gas-distributing belt and directing it, compare result of measurement to requirements of Specifications, in case of need make the corresponding adjustment.

12. Finally tighten bolts with the demanded effort (9.8 Nanometers).
13. Establish GRM drive covers (see the Section Removal and installation of forward covers of the GRM drive).
14. Establish a pulley of a cranked shaft (see the Section Removal and installation of a pulley of a cranked shaft)
15. Establish a V-shaped driving belt (see the Head Routine maintenance).

CHECK

Gas-distributing belt

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

 Do not allow hit on a surface of a gas-distributing belt of oils, greasing or cooling liquid, - in case of need carefully remove the slightest traces of pollution. In order to avoid breaks, try not to bend excessively a belt tape, - diameter of a bend (on the outer side of a belt) not a dale of wives to exceed 60 mm!

Check a gear surface of a belt for existence of gaps, cracks and signs of wear of a tape. Turn a belt and attentively study a condition of its back party. In case of detection of defects the belt is subject to replacement.


Automatic natyazhitel

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Check assembly of a natyazhitel for existence of signs of development of leaks through sealing rings. Estimate a condition and degree of wear of a rod of a natyazhitel. Replace defective components.

 Existence on a surface of a rod of a natyazhitel of insignificant traces of greasing is admissible.

2. Make sure that the rod of a natyazhitel does not move when pressing it with effort of 30 kgfs. If the rod starts being buried in the assembly case, 2-3 times slowly wring out a rod to a cylinder cut, then, at completely put forward rod apply to it pressure of 30 kgfs - if the rod of a pusher is wrung out without elastic resistance, replace assembly of a natyazhitel.

3. Measure rod vystupaniye size over a face surface of assembly. If the result of measurement exceeds the limit of the admissible range (5.7 h 0.5 mm), replace a natyazhitel.

4. Check the interfaced surfaces of a belt of the GRM drive and a contact point of a rod of a natyazhitel for existence of wear and cracks. In case of need replace a natyazhitel.
5. Check smoothness of rotation of a tension roller. In case of identification of noise or a side play make replacement.
6. Check a tension roller for existence of signs of development of leak of greasing.


Intermediate rollers

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Check smoothness of rotation of intermediate rollers. In case of identification of noise or a side play make replacement.
2. Check the surfaces of rollers adjoining to the outer side of a belt for existence of wear and cracks. Replace defective components.
3. Check rollers for existence of signs of leak of greasing.
