Removal and installation of camshafts
Details of installation of components of assembly of camshafts and head of cylinders
REMOVAL
CHECK
1. Having laid a shaft special prisms of a V-shaped form, by means of the dial measuring instrument of plunger type determine the size of its radial beating. Estimate degree of wear of bearing necks. In case of need make the corresponding recovery repair, or replace a shaft. |
2. Measure outer diameters of necks of a camshaft and internal diameters of beds of the corresponding bearings in a head of cylinders. Determine by way of subtraction of result of the first measurement from result of the second the size of working gaps of bearings. Compare results of calculations to requirements of Specifications, in case of need replace a shaft, or a head.
3. Estimate a condition of working surfaces of cams of a shaft. Minor defects can be eliminated by means of a grinding stone. Measure geometrical parameters of cams. Compare results of measurements to requirements of Specifications, in case of need replace a shaft. |
4. Determine the size of an axial side play of camshafts by the dial measuring instrument of plunger type. Compare results of measurements to requirements of Specifications, in case of need replace a shaft support. |

INSTALLATION
1. Apply a layer of motive oil on necks of a camshaft and establish it. 2. Apply Three Bond 1280B P/N K0877YA018 sealant on perimeter of the interfaced camshaft cover surface. The pillow of sealant has to have the section of 3 mm in the diameter (A) and is imposed on edge (B) of a contact surface of a cover (C).
3. Temporarily tighten as increase in serial numbers bolts with (7) on (10). 4. Establish assembly of yokes (see the Section Removal, check of a state and installation of elements of the drive of valves). 5. Working in strictly certain order, tighten with the demanded effort bolts of fastening of assembly of yokes (see the Section Removal, check of a state and installation of elements of the drive of valves). 6. By means of a special key like TORX PLUS (ST 499497000), moving in ascending order of serial numbers, tighten with the demanded effort (18 Nanometers) bolts with (11) on (16). 7. Working in ascending order of serial numbers, tighten with the demanded effort (10 Nanometers) bolts with (3) on (9). 8. Working in ascending order of serial numbers, tighten with the demanded effort (10 Nanometers) bolts (1) and (2).
9. Previously having greased sealing sponges, by means of a special mandrel (ST 499597000) and a pro-rate of ST 499587500 put on a camshaft pin the NEW epiploon (And) (see sopr. illustration). |
10. By means of the adaptation for installation of epiploons of ST 499587700 put into place a cap. 11. Make adjustment of valvate gaps (see the Section Check and adjustment of valvate gaps). 12. Establish a cover of a head of cylinders and connect a hose of ventilation of a case (PCV). 13. Further installation is made as it should be, the return to an order of dismantle of components |
