Subaru Legacy/Outback

1. Remove the panel of an internal upholstery and an insulating overlay of a door (see the Section Removal and installation of panels of an internal upholstery of doors, including a back door (the Station wagon models Legacy and Outback) and a cover of a luggage compartment (Sedan model)).
2. Remove the internal handle of a door (see the Section Removal, installation and check of components of castle assemblies).

3. Remove internal sections of stabilizers.

4. Remove a door rear-view mirror (see the Section Removal, service and installation of rear-view mirrors).

5. Remove the triangular panel of the basis of a mirror.

6. Having activated the electric drive, bring glass into the relevant provision and through service openings in the door panel give two fixing nuts.

7. Lifting up, extract glass from the door panel.  In order to avoid an exit of the driving mechanism from gearing do not lift the regulator in a closed position after glass extraction!

8. Installation is made upside-down, - track correctness of hit of glass in forward and back the directing.
9. Having finished installation, adjust the provision of glass at doors (see further).

1. Temporarily tighten an adjusting bolt on the one hand back directing, having recorded it in an average point of the extended opening in the door panel.
2. Temporarily tighten the regulator channel B in situation slightly below an average point of the extended opening.

3. Lower glass by 10 ÷ 15 mm and, wringing out the upper edge with effort of F = 45 ± 5 N, enclosed in the point located on the vertical passing in the middle between two external stabilizers press the internal stabilizer to a glass surface with effort 10 ± 5 N and record it in this situation.

4. Release fixing nuts and shift the directing glasses in the respective direction, achieving the correct longitudinal provision of glass in a window opening.

5. For alignment of an inclination of glass in a window opening of rather back (rack-mount) edge of a frame release an adjusting nut of the channel B of the regulator, then expose glass, correcting position of the channel B.

6. For adjustment of a clip of the upper edge of glass close a door, lift glass in the provision of rather top section of a sealant specified illustrations. Record glass in situation when its top emphasis slightly concerns the holder.

7. Visually estimate the provision of glass concerning a molding and try to achieve satisfactory result serial rotation of two adjusting bolts back directing, - in order to avoid undesirable shift directing back and forth, do not release at the same time two nuts.  In order to avoid violation of smoothness of adjustment do not incline an arm directing to the internal panel!

8. Working in a similar manner, adjust the second directing.

Generally both directing have to be adjusted equally, however, sometimes there can be a situation when this rule has to be violated. Nevertheless, it is necessary to consider that the conclusion one sending to a maximum, and in a minimum leads the second to noticeable overloads of the regulator at activation of a window regulator!

9. Having finished adjustment, tighten fixing nuts.
10. Make sure of lack of a gap between a first line of glass and the triangular panel of a support of a mirror, in case of need release three coupling bolts and adjust position of the panel by means of the lower (adjusting) bolt.

Existence of a gap between a first line of glass and triangular the panel of a support of a mirror is fraught with development of aerodynamic noise at high speeds of the movement.

11. Having finished, tighten all fixture.

1. Remove the panel of an internal upholstery and an insulating overlay of a door (see the Section Removal and installation of panels of an internal upholstery of doors, including a back door (the Station wagon models Legacy and Outback) and a cover of a luggage compartment (Sedan model)).
2. Remove the internal handle of a door (see the Section Removal, installation and check of components of castle assemblies).
3. Remove a windowpane (see above).

4. Disunite the contact socket of an electrical wiring, release four bolts and two nuts of fastening of the regulator to the door panel.

5. Release three screws of fastening of an electric motor and remove assembly of the regulator.

6. Make sure of serviceability of rotation of an electric motor in both directions when giving of tension on it from the battery (for change of the direction of rotation change polarity of connection).
7. Installation is made upside-down.
8. In summary adjust the provision of glass in a window opening (see above).

Details of installation of glass and components of a window regulator of a forward door are shown on an illustration.

2. Remove stabilizers.
3. Having activated the electric drive, bring glass into the relevant provision and through service openings in the door panel give two fixing nuts.

4. Release two fixing screws and remove the lower section of a sealant and extract glass from the door panel.

5. Installation is made upside-down, - track correctness of hit of glass in forward and back the directing.
6. Having finished installation, adjust the provision of glass at doors (see further).

Adjustment is made in the manner similar to the forward door described above for glass taking into account geometrical differences and lack of a rear-view mirror.

4. Holding screws a screw-driver, release nuts of fastening of the lobby directing.

5. Remove the lobby directing.

6. Disunite the contact socket of an electrical wiring, release four bolts and two nuts of fastening of the regulator to the door panel.

7. Release three screws of fastening of an electric motor and remove assembly of the regulator.
8. Make sure of serviceability of rotation of an electric motor in both directions when giving of tension on it from the battery (for change of the direction of rotation change polarity of connection).
9. Installation is made upside-down.
10. In summary adjust the provision of glass in a window opening (see above).
