Check of signals of input-output of TCM

The function chart of signals of input-output of TCM and the card of identification of contact plugs of electric sockets are presented on illustrations.



Reference charts of signals of input-output of TCM for models with VDC are submitted on an illustration.

 


Switch off ignition and check tension on the plug No. 1 of the B56 socket - the nominal rate makes 10 ÷ 13 Century.

 All further inspections are carried out at the included ignition.


Include ignition (the engine do not start) and check tension on plugs No. No. 1 and 23 of the B54 socket (check of giving of tension of ignition), - the nominal rate makes 10 ÷ 13 Century.

For check of signals of input-output of the sensor switch of permission of start it is necessary to check tension on B55 socket plugs in each of provisions of the lever of the AT selector:

a) Plug No. 1: tension has to switch between ranges less than 1 V (the lever in situation "P") and more than 8 V (the lever in any other situation, except "N");
b) Plug No. 14: tension has to switch between ranges less than 1 V (the lever in the situation "N") and more than 8 V (the lever in any other situation, except "Р");
c) Plug No. 3: tension has to switch between ranges less than 1 V (the lever in the situation "R") and more than 8 V (the lever in any other situation, except "N");
d) Plug No. 4: tension has to switch between ranges less than 1 V (the lever in the situation "D") and more than 8 V (the lever in any other situation);
e) Plug No. 5: tension has to switch between ranges less than 1 V (the lever in the situation "3") and more than 8 V (the lever in any other situation);
f) Plug No. 6: tension has to switch between ranges less than 1 V (the lever in the situation "2") and more than 8 V (the lever in any other situation);
g) Plug No. 7: tension has to switch between ranges less than 1 V (the lever in the situation "1") and more than 8 V (the lever in any other situation).

For check of signals of the sensor switch of braking check tension on the plug No. 12 of the B55 socket, - at the squeezed-out pedal of a foot brake the result of measurement has to make more than 10.5 In, and at the released pedal - less than 1 Century.

Check polarity of connection of plugs No. No. 9 (+) and 18 (-) of the B56 socket (a signal of data exchange of VDC).

For check of signals of the sensor switch of activation of the kickdown mode check tension on the plug No. 11 of the B55 socket, - at completely squeezed out gas pedal the result of measurement has to make less than 1 V, at released - more than 6.5 Century.

For check of the light indicator of temperature of ATF check tension on the plug No. 10 of the B56 socket, - at the switched-off indicator the result of measurement has to make more than 9 V, and at the included - less than 1 Century.

For check of signals of the sensor of provision of a butterfly valve (TPS) check tension on the plug No. 3 of the B54 socket, - at completely closed gate the result of measurement should not exceed the limit of range 0.3 ÷ 0.7 In, at completely open gate - 4.0 ÷ 4.6 Century.

For check of serviceability of giving of food check tension on the plug No. 2 of the B54 socket for TPS, the result of measurement has to make 4.8 ÷ 5.3 Century.

For check of signals of the sensor of temperature of ATF check tension on the plug No. 11 of the B54 socket and its resistance concerning the case. At a temperature of ATF of 20 °C results of measurements have to make 1.6 ÷ 2.0 In and 2.1 ÷ 2.9 kOhm, respectively; at a temperature of 80 °C: 0.4 ÷ 0.9 In and 275 ÷ 375 Ohm.

For check of signals forward/back sensors of speed of the car (VSS) check tension on the plug No. 18/24 of the B55 socket and its resistance concerning the case. At the motionless car tension has to be absent, and at a speed not less than 20 km/h the result of measurement has to make more than 1 V (alternating current). Resistance in both cases should not exceed the limit of the range of 450÷ 650 Ohms.

For check of signals of the sensor of turns of the turbine of the hydrotransformer check tension on the plug No. 8 of the B55 socket and its resistance concerning the case. During the operation of the heated-up engine on single turns in the range of the "D" AT tension has to be absent, in the range of "N" the result of measurement has to make more than 1 V (alternating current). Resistance in both cases has to make 450 ÷ 650 Ohm.

For check of an output signal of speed of the car check tension on the plug No. 17 of the B56 socket, - at a speed of movement no more than 10 km/h the result of measurement should not get to limits of range of 1 ÷ 4 Century.

For check of a signal of turns of the engine check tension on the plug No. 17 of the B55 socket, - at the working engine the result of measurement has to make 8 ÷ 11 V, at the killed engine - more than 10.5 Century.

For check of a signal of a tempostat check tension on the plug No. 22 of the B55 socket, - at the switched-on SET indicator the result of measurement has to make less than 1 V, at the switched off - more than 6.5 Century.

For check of signals of 1/2 distributions of a torque check tension on the plug No. 5/14 of the B56 socket, - at the working engine the result of measurement has to make more than 4 Century.

For check of signals of shutdown of control of distribution of a torque check tension on the plug No. 10 of the B55 socket, - the result of measurement has to make 8 Century.

For check of a signal of pressure in the inlet pipeline (MAP) check tension on the plug No. 1 of the B54 socket, - during the operation of the heated-up engine on single turns the result of measurement has to make 1.2 ÷ 1.8 Century.

For check of a signal of electromagnetic valves of switchings 1/2 check tension on the plug 22/5 of the B55 socket and its resistance concerning the case. On the 1st and 4-y/1-oh and the 2nd transfers the result of measurement has to make more than 9 V, and on the 2nd and 3-y/3-y and 4 - in both cases 10÷ 16 Ohms have to make less than 1 V. Soprotivleniye.

For check of signals of the executive electromagnetic valve of pressure in the line kill the heated-up engine and measure tension on the plug No. 9 of the B54 socket, and its resistance concerning the case. At completely open butterfly valve the result of measurement has to make less than 0.5 In, and at completely closed gate - 1.5÷ 4.0 V. Soprotivleniye in both cases have to make 2.0 ÷ 4.5 Ohm.

For check of signals of the executive electromagnetic valve of blocking of the hydrotransformer check tension on the plug No. 7 of the B54 socket and its resistance concerning the case. At the included blocking the result of measurement has to make less than 8.5 In, and at switched off - less than 0.5 V. Soprotivleniye in both cases have to make 10 ÷ 17 Ohm.

For check of signals of the executive electromagnetic valve of the distributing device check tension on the plug No. 6 of the B54 socket and its resistance concerning the case. At the established safety lock of "FWD" the result of measurement has to make more than 8.5 In, and at removed (the butterfly valve is completely open, and the lever of the selector is transferred to the situation "1") - less than 0.5 V. Soprotivleniye in both cases have to make 10 ÷ 17 Ohm.

For check of signals of the executive electromagnetic valve of a brake 2-4 kill the heated-up engine and check tension on the plug No. 18 of the B54 socket and its resistance concerning the case. At completely open butterfly valve the result of measurement has to make less than 0.5 In, and at completely closed gate - 1.5 ÷ 4.0 V. Soprotivleniye in both cases has to make 2.0 ÷ 4.5 Ohm.

For check of signals of the distributive electromagnetic valve of a brake 2-4 check tension on the plug No. 16 of the B54 socket and its resistance concerning the case. On the 1st transfer the result of measurement has to make less than 1 V, on the 3rd - more than 9 V. Soprotivleniye in both cases has to make 10 ÷ 16 Ohm.

For check of signals of the distributive electromagnetic valve of coupling of the lowering transfers check tension on the plug No. 15 of the B54 socket and its resistance concerning the case. On the 2nd transfer the result of measurement has to make less than 1 V, and on the 4th - more than 9 V. Soprotivleniye in both cases has to make 10 ÷ 16 Ohm.

For check of switches of the HOLD/" POWER modes" check tension on the plug No. 16/23) the B55 socket. At the included mode the result of measurement has to make less than 1 V, at switched off - more than 8/10 Century.

For check of the light indicator of the POWER mode check tension on the plug No. 11 of the B56 socket, - at the switched-on indicator the result of measurement has to make less than 1 V, and at the switched off - more than 9 Century.

For check of the FWD switch (model without VDC) check tension on the plug No. 20 of the B55 socket, - at the established safety lock of "FWD" the result of measurement has to make less than 1 V, at the removed - 6 ÷ 9.1 Century.

For check of the FWD indicator (model without VDC) check tension on the plug No. 2 of the B56 socket, - at the established safety lock of "FWD" the result of measurement has to make less than 1 V, at the removed - more than 9 Century.

For check of a signal of ABS (model without VDC) check tension on the plug No. 21 of the B55 socket, - at the activated ABS the result of measurement has to make less than 1 V, and at deactivated - 6.5 ÷ 15 Century.

For check of lines of grounding of sensors 1, 2, 3 and 4 check tension on plugs No. 20 of the B54 socket, No. 9 of the B55 socket and No. No. 10 and 19 of the B54 socket, respectively, and also their resistance concerning the case. Tension has to be absent, and resistance - not to exceed 1 Ohms.

For check of the system line of grounding check tension on plugs No. 19 of the B56 socket and No. 21 of the B54 socket, and also their resistance concerning the case. Tension has to be absent, and resistance - not to exceed 1 Ohms.

For check of wave signals of diagnostics of AT check tension on the plug No. 21 of the B56 socket, - the result of measurement should not get to limits of range of 1 ÷ 4 Century.

For check of a diagnostic signal of SSM the plug 15 of the B56 socket serves.

Reading of codes of malfunctions (DTC)


With use of the firm diagnostic Subaru (SSM) scanner

SSM is intended for reading of codes of malfunctions (DTC) and the current data, and also for cleaning of memory of the processor of the module of management.

Prepare SSM. Connect to it a diagnostic cable and insert a cartridge.

Connect SSM to the diagnostic DLC socket located at the left under the dashboard.

 The DLC socket is intended ONLY FOR connection of the SSM and GST scanners (the standard reader for systems of onboard self-diagnostics of OBD-II)!


Include ignition (the engine do not start).

Include power supply of the SSM scanner.

In the main menu (MAIN MENU) choose the subsection "Each System Check" and press the YES key. Further, in the field of a choice of system {System Selection Menu} select item {Transmission Control System} and again press the YES button. After a conclusion of data on the AT type press "YES" once again.

In the field {Transmission Diagnosis} select item { Diagnostic Code (s) of Display } and press the YES key.

Further make a choice like the output data: the last kept codes ({ Latest Diagnostic Code (s) }), or the complete list of the codes which are stored in memory of the processor ({ Memorized Diagnostic Code (s) }), - confirm a choice with pressing of the YES key.

 More detailed description of procedure of reading of DTC by means of SSM can be found in the instruction on use of the scanner.


Reading of the current data

In the field {Transmission Diagnosis} select item {Current Data Display & Save} (To show and keep the current data) and press the YES button. Further, in the menu of a conclusion of data {Data Display Menu} select item {Data Display} and press the YES button. For display of the necessary data move according to the list by means of scrolling buttons.

 More detailed description of procedure of reading of the current data by means of SSM can be found in the instruction on use of the scanner.


The list of the output data is presented in the table given below.

Without application of SSM (on the light POWER indicator)

Warm up the engine up to the normal working temperature, then switch off ignition and again start the engine. Make a small trip with a speed not less than 20 km/h.

Park the car and at the squeezed-out pedal of a foot brake transfer the AT selector lever to the situation "1". Switch off and again include ignition.

Make the following switchings of the lever of the selector: "2" — "1" — "2" — "3" — "D".

If the indicator at the included blinks with a frequency of 4 Hz (one gleam each 0.125 (1/8) seconds), check a condition of chains of giving of food and grounding. Otherwise pass to the following stage of check.

Switch off ignition: if the frequency of a blinking of the indicator makes 2 Hz (one gleam each 0.25 (1/4) seconds), therefore, AT as it should be. Otherwise pass to the following stage of check. If the indicator highlights the DTC codes brought in memory of the processor, copy the output data. If the alarm indicator continues to burn, check its chain for existence of signs of short circuit, make necessary corrections.

 


Cleaning of memory of the processor


With application of SSM

In the main menu (MAIN MENU) select item {Each System Check} and press the YES key. Then in the field by {System Selection Menu} choose {Transmission Control System} and press the YES button. After a conclusion to the screen of the monitor of data on the AT type press the YES key once again.

In the field {Transmission Diagnosis} (Transmission diagnostics) select item {Clear Memory} and press the YES button.

After a conclusion of messages of "Done" and "Turn Ignition Switch Off" switch off SSM and ignition.

Without application of SSM


Removal of the codes displayed the display is made by ignition switching off.

Nevertheless, previous flowing codes remain written down in memory of the TCM processor food on which moves from a reserve source. For full cleaning of memory it is necessary to take a minimum for one minute the safety lock No. 4 included in a chain of the reserve power supply under the dashboard on the right/at the left.
