System of self-diagnostics - the general information and the principles of functioning

Principles of functioning

The system of onboard self-diagnostics reveals malfunctions and refusals of under control elements and keeps in memory of the processor the corresponding diagnostic codes (DTC) belong to number of under control elements of system of self-diagnostics of AT:

a) Back sensor of speed of the car (VSS);
b) Forward sensor of speed of the car (VSS);
c) Sensor of provision of a butterfly valve (TPS);
d) Electromagnetic valve of switching 1;
e) Electromagnetic valve of switching 2;
f) Distributive electromagnetic valve of a brake 2-4;
g) Executive electromagnetic valve of blocking of the hydrotransformer;
h) Executive electromagnetic valve of the distributing device;
i) ATF temperature sensor;
j) Chain of a signal of turns of the engine;
k) The executive electromagnetic valve of pressure in the line;
l) AT loading signal chain;
m) Chain of a signal of management of distribution of a torque;
n) Executive electromagnetic valve of a brake 2-4;
o) The distributive electromagnetic valve of coupling of the lowering transfers;
p) Sensor of turns of the turbine of the hydrotransformer.

Order of functioning of the light indicator of inclusion of the mode of the increased power (POWER)

In a normal situation the light POWER indicator is activated at inclusion of ignition of the engine and has to go out about 2 seconds later after implementation of start of the engine.

At identification of any violations the indicator after start implementation at first is switched-off, then again is activated in the flashing mode.

Reading of codes of malfunctions of diagnostics of malfunctions and SSM

The conclusion brought in memory of the DTC processor is made by means of the light indicator of inclusion of the POWER mode according to the following scheme:

a) The blinking with a frequency of 4 Hz testifies to identification of refusals like violation of giving of power supply from the battery;
b) The blinking with a frequency of 2 Hz indicates lack of the violations revealed by system;
c) By means of a blinking with the variable duration and frequency of repetition of gleams the indicator highlights the diagnostic codes kept in memory of the processor;
d) Continuous burning of the indicator testifies to violation in a chain of the sensor switch of permission of start or the sensor of turns of idling.

Reading of the DTC AT codes brought in memory of the processor, as well as removal of performance data of separate sensors and sensors switches, can be made by means of the firm reader Subaru (SSM) connected to the socket under the car dashboard. The list of codes of malfunctions of AT is provided in Specifications at the beginning of the present Chapter.

Mode of emergency functioning

The mode of emergency functioning provides the minimum adequate level of controllability of the car in case of refusal of sensors of speed of the car (VSS), the sensor of provision of a butterfly valve (TPS), the sensor switch of permission of start (P/N). And also any of the operating electromagnetic valves. The description of the principle of functioning of a control system of AT at refusal of each of the listed elements is given below.

At refusal of one of sensors of the speed (VSS) of TCM switches to use of the corresponding entrance signal of the frequency of rotation of the output shaft of transmission arriving from the second (serviceable) VSS. In case of refusal both sensors the range of functioning of AT is limited only to the 1st and 3rd transfers.

At violation of serviceability of functioning of the sensor of provision of a butterfly valve (TPS), TCM starts using some fixed preset value as the corresponding entrance signal.

If as a result of failure of the sensor switch of permission of start (P/N) to TCM some various signals start arriving at the same time, the module begins adhering to the following priority sequence: D — N (P) — R — 3 — 2 — 1.

At refusal of any of electromagnetic valves of switchings 1 or 2 both the valve are deactivated, and transmission is blocked on the 3rd transfer.

At failure of the executive electromagnetic valve of pressure in the line its deactivation is made, and pressure in the line rises to the maximum value for the purpose of ensuring the guaranteed operability of the car.

At failure of the executive electromagnetic valve of blocking of the hydrotransformer its deactivation is made, and blocking of the coupling is removed.

Deactivation of the executive electromagnetic valve of the distributing device as a result of its refusal leads to giving on the distributing coupling of the maximum pressure of oil that corresponds to a constant torque transmission to back wheels (a condition of a direct joint of AWD).

At failure of the executive electromagnetic valve of a brake 2-4, and also distributive electromagnetic valves of coupling of the lowering transfers and a brake 2-4, they are deactivated, and the range of functioning of AT is limited only to the 1st and 3rd transfers.

Failure of the sensor of turns of the turbine of the hydrotransformer also leads to restriction of working ranges of transmission with the 1st and 3rd transfers.
