On the models considered in the present manual the system of direct ignition (DIS) working under control of ECM is used (see the Head of the Power supply system and release). The module of management determines ignition advancing corner parameters, based on the basis of the data arriving from various information sensors which are continuously tracing working parameters and current state of the engine and develops the corresponding teams to the ignition module / to bobbin assemblies. Schemes of an arrangement of components of system of ignition it is submitted on illustrations. As an example on an illustration the function chart of system of direct ignition used on 4-cylinder models is presented.

For the purpose of ignition of air and fuel mix in engine cylinders the system generates high-voltage (VV) tension and gives out it on screwed in each of spark plug engine cylinders. Tension has to be rather high to provide "breakdown" of an air gap between candle electrodes. Besides, "breakdown" has to happen in strictly certain timepoint corresponding to the current position of the piston in the cylinder and answering to requests of the engine in the wide range of operational parameters.

Sensors of provision of distributive and cranked shaft (CMP and CKP) and set, united in the uniform block with the ignition module, from two coils, individual for each pair of cylinders (4-cylinder models) / six individual coils integrated with own modules of ignition in uniform assemblies (6-cylinder models) are a part of system of direct ignition. On 4-cylinder models the output tension of coils of ignition moves on candles on VV to wires, on 6-cylinder the secondary plug of each of coils fastens directly to a shaft of a spark plug of the corresponding cylinder. Refusal of use of VV of an electrical wiring considerably increases reliability of functioning of system due to elimination of such negative factors, as leakages of current, falling of secondary tension and leakage of current. ESM develops the basic signals defining an order of connection of the module of ignition to each of coils according to the current provision of a cranked shaft. As it was already mentioned above, installation of a corner of an advancing of ignition is carried out by the module of management on the basis of the analysis of the signals arriving from various information sensors which are a part of systems of ignition of injection of fuel. Here ECT, VSS, TPS sensors, provisions AT, the expense measuring instrument the MAF air/sensor, the sensor of a detonation (KS) - see the Head of the Power supply system and release enter. The module of ignition carries out distribution of a signal between coils and/or controls duration of impulses of their operation (on primary current).

The scheme of the organization of system of ignition of DIS used on 6-cylinder models

On 4-cylinder models of the coil of ignition (on one on pair of cylinders) are combined with the ignition module in uniform assembly

On 6-cylinder models individual for each cylinder, bobbin and modular assembly is connected directly to a shaft of the spark plug

1 — I Will corrode the output plug
2 — Assembly of the coil with the ignition module

In DIS system of 4-cylinder models at distribution of ignition the single spark is used. At the command of ESM sparking happens in at the same time two cylinders the piston of one of which is in the end of a step of compression, another - at the end of a final step. Thus the main power failure is the share of a candle of the cylinder which is in a compression step in view of much more high pressure in it. Sparking power in the second cylinder will be minimum (a single spark), providing thus reburning of the molecules of air and fuel mix remaining in the combustion chamber that allows to achieve more effective decrease in toxicity of the fulfilled gases. Sparking happens at a time in cylinders 1/2 and 3/4.

At service of systems of direct ignition it is necessary to observe special precautionary measures:

a) During the work with system of ignition put on working clothes, including a headdress, goggles and footwear. Some elements some time after a stop of the engine remain hot, - do not burn!
b) Before starting procedures of removal, dismantling and installation of components of system of ignition, remove traces of dirt and corrosion from their surface. Also preserve the removed parts against hit on them of dust and dirt;
c) Avoid excess procedures of removal, installation, dismantling and replacement;
d) Watch observance of efforts of a tightening of carving fixture;
e) If the engine is not started, do not hold the ignition key continuously turned in the situation ON within more than 10 seconds in a row;
f) Watch that connection of a tachometer was carried out strictly according to instructions of manufacturers, - some of the released measuring instruments can not be suitable for use on these models;
g) Do not allow grounding of contact plugs of coils of ignition on weight at all, - the slightest imprudence in this question can lead to failure of the module of ignition and/or actually coils;
h) Do not disconnect the battery at the working engine;
i) Disunite contact sockets of an electrical wiring of sensors and modules of management only previously having made sure that the negative wire is disconnected from the battery;
j) Watch correctness of grounding of modules of ignition.
