Removal/installation, check and service of the battery

At shutdown of the battery always disconnect from it first of all a negative wire, - it is necessary to connect it the last! If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that have the correct combination for input of the audio system in action!

Removal and installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. The battery is located in the left forward corner of a motive compartment and is fixed on the pallet by means of a special clamping level.

2. Remove from a hairpin the holder of a wire of the battery.

3. Disconnect from the battery both wires (at first negative).

4. Release fixing nuts and remove a clamping level of the battery.

5. Remove the battery from the pallet and take it from a motive compartment of the car.
6. When replacing track that the replaceable battery completely corresponded removed from the car on the tiporazmerny and performance data.
7. Installation is made upside-down. Tighten fixing nuts with the demanded effort (3.4 Nanometers).

 Before installation clear plugs of wires and grease them in order to avoid formation of corrosion. Connect at first positive, but only after - a negative wire.

Check and charging

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

 Performance of checks of a state and service of the battery demands observance of some special precautionary measures. Remember that the hydrogen emitted by electrolyte is explosive gas in the highest measure. Do not smoke, and do not come nearer to a venue of works with naked flame or the lit cigarette! Do not forget that actually electrolyte represents the diluted sulfuric acid which at hit in eyes or on open sites of a body is capable to cause strong chemical burns. Electrolyte also easily can damage fabric of clothes and a paint and varnish covering of body panels!

 At charging of the battery follow instructions of the charger. At battery charging on the car disconnect from it wires, differently diodes of the generator and other electric modules can be put out of action.

1. Attentively check the adjusting pallet of the battery for existence of signs of development of corrosion. Carefully wipe a surface of the battery and make sure of lack of mechanical damages of the case, ventilating traffic jams and polar plugs.
2. Check electrolyte level in each can, in case of need make the corresponding adjustment by a dolivaniye of the distilled water (level of electrolyte has to reach MAX mark in the case, - do not exceed a maximum level of electrolyte).
3. By means of the thermometer and the areometer measure the specific weight of electrolyte. Remember that density of electrolyte depends on its temperature and can be specified to effective value (S20) as follows: S20 = St + 0.0007kh (t - 20), where: S20 - the specific weight of electrolyte at a temperature of 20 °C, St - the measured specific weight; t - electrolyte temperature at the time of measurement (°C). Thus effective value of density of S20 on has to exceed the limit of working range 1.220 ÷ 1.290.

4. By results of the performed measurements, using brought on sopr. illustrations the schedule, determine battery charge level.

5. In the loaded state the specific weight of electrolyte has to keep within range 1.250 ÷ 1.290 within not less than one hour, thus tension of each can has to remain within 2.5 ÷ 2.8 Century.
6. It is possible to estimate a condition of a charge of the battery and on areometer indicators:

· The green color of an indicator spot corresponds to the 65 percent level of a charge and to check only serviceability of functioning of the battery under loading enough;
· The gray color of a spot testifies to lowering of level of a charge below a 65 percent barrier and it is necessary to make battery charging;
· If the indicator spot remains transparent, the battery needs replacement (previously check a condition of electric systems of the car).
7. Normal charging of the battery has to be made according to instructions of manufacturers, or current about 1/10 from nominal rate of the capacitor characteristic (Ach) of the battery.
8. Using a method of fast charging the battery it is possible to load for shorter period of time with rather high current. Remember that at high current of charging electrolyte strongly heats up that can lead to a battery exit out of operation, - use the currents which are not leading more than 40 °C to electrolyte heating.

 Use of charging current over 10 And is fraught with essential reduction of service life of the battery!
