Service of the fuel pump

REMOVAL

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

 See the prevention at the beginning of the Section Dropping Pressure in a power supply system!


 Also the fuel reserve sensor is a part of assembly of the fuel pump.

1. Dump pressure in a power supply system (see the Section Dropping Pressure in a power supply system).
2. Open a cover of the hatch of access and uncover a jellied mouth of a fuel tank.
3. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
4. Empty the main chamber of a fuel tank (see the Section Depletion of a Fuel Tank).
5. Lift a back seat and unbend edge of a carpet of a floor.

6. Turn out fixing screws and uncover a service opening.

7. Disconnect an electrical wiring from assembly of the fuel pump.

8. Release a collar and disconnect from pump assembly a pumping pump hose (C), disunite sockets of fast joining (see the Section Check of a State and Replacement of Fuel Lines and their nipple connections) hoses of giving (And) and return (To) fuels.
9. Give nuts of a fixing flange and take assembly of the fuel pump / sensor of a reserve of fuel from a fuel tank.

Dismantling

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove the fuel pump and its assembly bracket from assembly.

 Be careful, - the assembly bracket is fixed by means of two lock uvulas!

2. Disconnect an electrical wiring from the pump.

Check of a state

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Connect to plugs No. No. 1 and 2 of the contact socket of the fuel pump of a wire and check serviceability of functioning of assembly by giving for it from tension battery in 12 Century.

 Try to provide the maximum remoteness of the battery from the pump! Organize inclusion of giving of tension from the battery! Do not allow long functioning of the pump without loading! Replace the faulty pump.

2. Having finished check, carefully wipe all traces of the spilled fuel.

Assembly and installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

Assembly and installation are made as it should be, the return to an order of dismantle of components. A tightening of bolts of a fixing flange of pump assembly with the demanded effort (5.9 Nanometers) make strictly in a certain order.
