REMOVAL

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
2. Release nuts of fastening of forward wheels.
3. Lift the car over the earth and remove forward wheels.
4. Remove forward section of system of production of the fulfilled gases (see the Head of the Power supply system and release).
5. By means of a suitable stripper release tips of steering drafts from rotary fists, - previously take forelocks and give koronchaty nuts.
6. Remove a domkratny plate and the forward stabilizer of cross stability (see the Section Removal, check of a condition of components and installation of the forward stabilizer of cross stability).
7. Disunite one of nipple sockets of connection of hydraulic lines A and B to the central part of a case of the steering mechanism and connect the piece of a vinyl hose suitable on diameter to the reception union. Having several times turned a steering wheel against the stop in both parties, merge hydraulic liquid.
8. Disconnect the second hydraulic line and repeat the procedure of a vypuskaniye of hydraulic liquid described in the previous paragraph.
9. Remove the cardan hinge (see the Section Removal, check of a state and installation of the cardan hinge of a steering column).
10. Disconnect from a case of the steering mechanism of a tube at first pressure head (D), then returnable (C) lines, at an otpuskaniye of a cap nut hold reciprocal part of the socket the second key.

11. Release bolts of fixing collars and remove the steering mechanism from a cross beam of a forward suspension bracket.

CHECK

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Fix assembly of the steering mechanism in a special bed and clamp the last in a vice.

 Do not try to clamp a case of a steering rack in a vice simply at all!

2. Disconnect from a lath steering drafts (see below).

3. By means of a dynamometer measure resistance of sliding of a lath in both directions. If the result of any measurement makes less than 304 N, replace a lath/case of the steering mechanism.

4. By means of the dial measuring instrument of plunger type determine sizes of lateral side plays of a lath in extreme provisions of a steering wheel when applying the corresponding trailer loadings.

5. Measure sizes of lateral and axial side plays of an entrance shaft of the steering mechanism.

6. By means of a key of ST 926230000 and a dynamometer measure the size of resistance of an entrance shaft to rotation.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect four tubes from a case of the steering mechanism.

2. Fix assembly of the steering mechanism in a special bed of ST 926200000 and clamp the last in a vice.

 Attention: Do not try to clamp a case of a steering rack in a vice simply at all!

3. Release small and big bandage tapes of fastening of protective covers, remove the last from a case of the steering mechanism and shift them along rods of steering drafts.

 For an otpuskaniye of small bandage tapes use nippers, locks of big tapes are released by a poddevaniye by a screw-driver with a flat sting.


4. Extend a lath from a case approximately on 40 mm, hooking a screw-driver, release wire clamps lock washers since both ends of internal tips of steering drafts.

5. By means of a special key of ST 926230000 weaken a lock-nut of the adjusting screw, then tighten the last against the stop.

6. Rozhkov a key on 32 mm holding internal tips of steering drafts, separate the last from a steering rack.

7. Release the adjusting screw of the steering mechanism and take a spring and the coupling. Estimate a condition of the removed components, replace the failed details.
8. Turn out two bolts of fastening of valvate assembly, then remove the last, accurately releasing an entrance shaft from a case of the steering mechanism.

9. Nippers rotate an emphasis of a steering rack clockwise until the end of a lock ring seems. Rotating a lock ring in an opposite direction, take it outside.

10. Having pulled, release a lath from a case of the steering mechanism together with an emphasis and the basic plug.
11. Remove an emphasis and the basic plug from a lath.

 The basic plug and lock ring are subject to replacement without fail!


12. Fill in a case of the steering mechanism from a casing of the leading gear wheel a special mandrel of ST 34199AE050 and by means of a press push out outside a sealing cuff.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove valvate assembly from the steering mechanism.

2. Remove a boot from the case of valvate assembly.

3. By means of a piece of a pipe with an internal diameter of 44 ÷ 46 mm take from a casing assembly of the leading gear wheel with the valve.

4. By means of a mandrel of ST 34099FA120 remove an epiploon and the special bearing from the case of valvate assembly, - try not to scratch a gear wheel, do not put excessive effort to the end of a casing.

 The epiploon is subject to replacement without fail!

5. By means of special nippers remove a lock ring of fastening of the bearing on a shaft of the leading gear wheel.

 The lock ring is subject to replacement without fail!

6. Having used a piece of a pipe with an internal diameter of 38.5 ÷ 39.5 mm as a mandrel, press from a shaft the bearing assembled with the washer enclosed under it.

 The epiploon is subject to replacement without fail!

ASSEMBLY

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

 Use for greasing of components of the steering mechanism only firm Subaru Valiant Grease M2 greasing (No. 003608001 in packing of NETTO of 0.5 kg)

Before installation carefully clear all components, having completely removed from them dirt traces, oil deposits and traces of corrosion. Estimate a condition of a case of the steering mechanism, in case of identification of cracks, deformations and other mechanical damages make replacement.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. By means of a mandrel of ST 34199AE050 put the NEW sealing cuff in a case of the steering mechanism, - continue to press a cuff until the flange of a mandrel (But) does not rest against a case cut (In). Track that the cuff was developed correctly, try not to scratch internal walls of the cylinder.

Before installation grease cuff sponges with pure hydraulic liquid.

2. Fix a case of the steering mechanism on ST 926200000 bed.

3. For an assessment of extent of deformation of a lath of the steering mechanism put on its gear part the conductor of ST 926390001, - the lath has to enter in the conductor without the excessive resistance and points of jamming. In case of identification of deformations lysok on the end of a lath get into condition surfaces by means of a file with small tooth. Before installation of a lath wash out it pure hydraulic liquid.

4. Grease gear part of a lath with Valiant Grease M2 greasing (see the prevention at the beginning of subsection) and put on it ST 926200001 mandrel equipped with a cover, - track that air openings were not hammered with greasing, in case of need open a cover and clean openings. For the purpose of prevention of risk of damage of a sealing cuff grease the piston of a lath and an external surface of a mandrel with pure hydraulic liquid.
5. Fill a lath in a case of the steering mechanism from the cylinder. After a full transmission of a mandrel in a cuff it can be removed.

6. In case of need by means of a file with small tooth remove from a surface of a rod of a lath of the tease and an agnail, then put for the end of a lath two mandrels (ST1: 926400000 and ST2: 927660000) also install the basic plug, - before installation the plug should be dunked into pure cooling liquid. Try not to damage sealing elements.

7. Fill in a cylinder tube a lath emphasis before combination of its flute with a flute in the cylinder. Rotating an emphasis nippers, achieve that its lateral opening became visible through grooves in the cylinder.

8. By means of nippers record an emphasis the NEW lock ring, - after one end of the lock of a ring is filled on the seat, turn an emphasis for 90 ÷ 180 degrees. Try not to scratch a lath.

9. Put a support pillow on a lath case.
10. Make assembly of the operating valve (see below). Grease the leading gear wheel and the bearing of valvate assembly with firm Valiant Grease M2 greasing
11. Put a boot on the case of valvate assembly.
12. Establish NEW sealing laying, develop a lath teeths to the leading gear wheel and fill valvate assembly in a case of the steering mechanism, - try not to jam a sealing element. Serially in stages tighten bolts of fastening of valvate assembly with the demanded effort (25 Nanometers).
13. Hammer space between lath teeths firm greasing, apply a thin film of greasing also on the sliding rod surface. For the purpose of squeezing of the lath which accumulated on both ends 2-3 times shift it at all length of the course. Remove excess of greasing, without allowing hit it in air openings.

 Do not use for movement of a lath without attached to it a sieve greasing on the carving ends of a lath at all.

14. Purely wipe hands and fill opening greasing under installation of the coupling and a boot.
15. Grease the sliding surface of the coupling and a saddle of a spring, then fill the coupling in a casing of the leading gear wheel / valvate assembly, put a spring in an opening of the adjusting screw, from above fill greasing, then screw the screw.

16. Estimate a condition of steering drafts, in case of identification of signs of a bend or weakening of landing of tips replace drafts. Establish lock washers, screw in internal tips and tighten steering drafts.

17. Fuller a chisel lock washers.

18. Release the adjusting screw and, rotating an entrance shaft, bring a lath into the neutral (central) situation corresponding to the rectilinear provision of forward wheels of the car.
19. Grease the coupling of adjusting assembly.

20. Screw the adjusting screw on two rounds of a carving. Grease about 1/3 perimeters of carving part of the screw with liquid sealant like Three Bond 1141.

21. Tighten the screw with effort of 7.4 Nanometers, then release it on 25 °. Make sure that the steering wheel rotates from an emphasis against the stop without signs of "prikhvatyvaniye".
22. Screw a lock-nut and, holding the adjusting screw from a provorachivaniye Rozhkov a key, tighten a lock-nut with the demanded effort (39 Nanometers).
23. Estimate degree of wear of components of the mechanism. In case of need make the corresponding replacements.
24. Fill flute greasing on bars of steering drafts, put protective covers on the regular places, make sure of correctness of their landing and fix on a pipe of a case of the steering mechanism NEW bandage tapes / collars.

 Collars / bandage tapes should be established by locks down.


25. Also record the external ends of covers NEW bandage tapes, - track that covers were not overwound, and their landing sleeves got to reception flutes on bars of drafts.

26. If removed, screw external tips of steering drafts on a place and temporarily tighten lock-nuts, having left free sites of bars L long = 15 mm.

27. Having grasped a tip of steering draft, two-three times with the greatest possible speed move a lath from an emphasis against the stop (And), then, two-three times slowly rotate a bar in both parties (In). Make sure that the protective cover was not displaced and not deformed. Repeat check from the opposite side of the steering mechanism.

28. Remove the steering mechanism from the ST 926200000 stand.
29. Connect to four unions on a case of the steering mechanism of a tube And and In hydraulic lines, - at first In, then A. Zatyanite nipple nuts with the demanded effort (13 Nanometers).
30. Connect tubes the C (lower) and the D (top), - as transfer. Tighten cap nipple nuts with the demanded effort (15 Nanometers).


The operating valve

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Grease with pure hydraulic liquid internal walls of the case of valvate assembly.

2. By means of two mandrels (ST1: 34099FA120 and ST2: 34099FA130) press on the seat in the case of valvate assembly the NEW top epiploon, - track that the epiploon was developed by the correct party forward.

 For the purpose of simplification of performance of procedure the contact surface of an internal mandrel should be greased with jellied greasing. The epiploon should be fixed at first in a mandrel, and only then to fill in the case.

3. Estimate a condition of an entrance shaft, - in case of identification of deformations or damage of notches the steering mechanism assembled is subject to replacement. For the purpose of prevention of damage of an epiploon wrap up vents of a shaft the insulating tape conducting gear wheels. Fill assembly of a gear wheel with the valve in the case of valvate assembly, - try not to damage an epiploon.

 Before installation grease an entrance shaft, a sealing ring and internal walls of the case with pure hydraulic liquid.


4. Fix valvate assembly in the bed collected from the ST1 (926370000) and ST2 (34099FA100) components, put a mandrel of ST3 (926360000) on a gear wheel, fill the NEW lower epiploon and press it in the case of valvate assembly by means of a mandrel of ST4 (927620000). Continue landing of an epiploon until the mandrel of ST3 does not rest against a case cut.

 For the purpose of simplification of performance of procedure grease an epiploon and a mandrel of ST3 with pure hydraulic liquid.

5. Remove a mandrel of ST3 and establish a washer.

6. By means of a mandrel of ST3 (927640000) put the ball bearing, - track that the bearing was not warped.

7. By means of suitable nippers record assembly by a lock ring, - make sure of reliability of landing of a ring in a reception flute.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Installation is made as it should be, the return to an order of dismantle of components. Track that all fixture was tightened with the demanded effort.
2. Fill system of hydrostrengthening of a wheel (see the Section Check and GUR liquid replacement, removal of air from a hydraulic path).
3. During a short trip make sure of serviceability of functioning of the steering drive. Park the car and, without suppressing the engine, 30-40 times turn a steering wheel from an emphasis against the stop, then examine assembly of the steering mechanism on existence of signs of development of leaks.
