Removal, service and installation of the steering pump

The design of pump assembly of GUR of models 2.0 and 2.5 of l is presented on illustrations, the steering pump on models of 3.0 l to dismantling is not subject (see also Section Design and the principle of functioning of elements of the hydrostrengthened steering drive - the general information).

 In case of detection of signs of development of leaks in a pump housing assembly is subject to replacement.

REMOVAL

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
2. Uncover a driving pulley.


L models 2.0 and 2.5

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Release lock and adjusting bolts and take off a V-shaped belt of the drive of the steering pump.

2. Disconnect an electrical wiring from the sensor switch of the steering pump.

3. Disconnect from the steering pump a pressure head tube With and the soaking-up (inlet) hose.

 Try not to allow hits of hydraulic liquid on a driving belt, in order to avoid hit in system of dirt at once to a zakuporta, or wrap up pure rags the open ends of lines!

4. Turn out bolts of fastening of the basic carburetor of the steering pump.

5. Clamp an arm in a vice with soft sponges and turn out two bolts from the forward party of pump assembly.

6. Remove a nozzle from the pump.

7. Turn out a bolt from the back party of pump assembly and, having hooked a screw-driver, separate the pump from a basic arm.


Models of 3.0 l

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1 Take off a wedge-shaped driving belt.
2 Disconnect an electrical wiring from pressure sensor switch.
3 Remove the belt tension regulator.

4 Disconnect the pressure head and soaking-up hoses from pump assembly.

 Try not to allow hits of hydraulic liquid on a driving belt, in order to avoid hit in system of dirt at once to a zakuporta, or wrap up pure rags the open ends of lines!

5. Turn out bolts of fastening of a basic arm of the steering pump.

6. Clamp an arm in a vice with soft sponges and turn out two bolts from the forward party of pump assembly.

7. Turn out a bolt from the back party of pump assembly and separate the pump from a basic arm.

Dismantling (only l models 2.0 and 2.5)

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

 The steering pump installed on model 3.0, l to dismantling is not subject and in case of failure is replaced assembled.


1. Place assembly of the steering pump in the conductor of ST 34199AE020, fix in a vice and turn out four bolts of fastening of a back cover.

2. Remove a pressure head plate from pump assembly.

3. Having accurately hooked a screw-driver, take a lock ring.

 Do not take an eccentric ring, a rotor and other components from assembly!

4. Put into place a pressure head plate and temporarily establish a back cover on forward section of a pump housing.
5. Remove a driving pulley from a rotor shaft, then fix assembly in a vice with soft sponges.

6. Having hooked a screw-driver, take an epiploon.

7. Study a condition of the removed components.
8. At identification of signs of damage to flow, wear of an opening under installation of the spool-type valve, damage or wear of the surface interfaced to cartridge assembly, and also contacting to shaft of a rotor and an epiploon of surfaces the case is subject to replacement assembled with the spool-type valve.
9. The damaged back cover is also subject to replacement, - pay special attention to a condition of surfaces of sliding.
10. The shaft of a rotor is replaced in case of identification of failure of the bearings, signs of a bend, wear contacting to the plug and an epiploon of surfaces and also a surface under installation of a rotor.
11. Estimate degree of wear of surfaces of sliding of a pressure head plate, - in case of need make replacement.
12. Study a condition of an eccentric ring, face and lateral surfaces of shiberny shovels, sliding surfaces (and grooves under installation of shiberny shovels) a rotor - in case of identification of signs of excessive wear replace cartridge assembly.

 In case of insignificant damage of a rotor in the course of removal of a lock ring, the formed teases can be eliminated by means of a grinding stone.

13. Estimate a condition of carving part of the nipple socket, a spring, and also all fixing bolts and nuts. Replace excessively worn out or damaged components.
14. The burst or excessively deformed basic arm of pump assembly is also subject to replacement.

ASSEMBLY

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

 All sealing components and lock rings removed from pump assembly are subject to replacement without fail!

1. Wash out all removed components oil, then carefully dry up them.
2. Compressed air blow forward section of the case of pump assembly for the purpose of full removal of traces of flushing oil from it.
3. Grease surfaces of components with the special hydraulic oil preventing corrosion development.
4. Check a condition of internal surfaces of forward section of the case.
5. Temporarily establish a back cover on forward section of the case.

6. By means of a mandrel of ST 34199AE030 and a press fill the NEW epiploon in pump assembly.

7. Put a driving pulley on a rotor shaft.
8. Place assembly of the steering pump in the conductor of ST 34199AE020 and fix in a vice.
9. Remove a back cover.

10. Having used as a mandrel a replaceable face head on 10 mm, put in a reception flute on a rotor shaft the NEW lock ring.

11. Correctly having developed, establish into place a pressure head plate.

12. Grease with silicone greasing NEW sealing rings and put them in forward section of a pump housing and on a pressure head plate.
13. Establish a new sealing element on a pressure head plate.
14. Having tracked correctness of hit in a reciprocal opening of the directing pin, establish a back cover.
15. Screw fixing bolts and tighten them with the demanded effort (27.5 Nanometers), then, working strictly in a certain order, release bolts and again tighten them with the demanded effort (as an otpuskaniye).
16. In summary manually check freedom of rotation of a shaft of the pump, - in case of need disassemble the pump and proizvdeit necessary corrections (for example, remove the foreign particles disturbing to rotation of a shaft from the case).

Assessment of degree of wear of internal components

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Being guided by the scheme provided on sopr. illustrations, slightly clamp pump assembly in a vice with soft sponges (it will be better to lay pair of wooden blocks between sponges of a vice and a pump housing) and by means of the dial measuring instrument of plunger type estimate the size of a lateral side play of a shaft of the pump when applying to an effort pulley at 1 kgf. If the result of measurement makes more than 0.4 mm, replace pump assembly.

2. Further measure the size of an axial side play of a shaft. If the result of measurement exceeds 0.6 mm, replace the pump.

3. Determine the size of a radial beating of a pulley by a stream bottom. At excess by result of measurement of limit admissible value (1.0 mm) replace a pulley.

4. By means of a dynamometer measure the pulley resistance to a provorachivaniye. If the result of measurement exceeds 9.22 N (0.94 kgfs), replace pump assembly.

 Some excess of limit admissible value at the time of start-off of a pulley from a place is allowed.

INSTALLATION

Pulling of the plug to the interfaced surface of pump assembly (l models 2.0 and 2.5)

L models 2.0 and 2.5

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Clamp a basic arm of pump assembly in a vice with soft sponges and by means of semi-inch face heads on 14 and on 21 mm densely attract the plug to a pump housing.

2. Screw and tighten with the demanded effort (37.3) bolt of fastening on an arm of the pump and an arm of the sensor switch of pressure.

3. Screw and tighten forward bolts of pump assembly with the demanded effort (15.7 Nanometers).
4. Screw and tighten a nozzle with the demanded effort (6.5 Nanometers).
5. Establish assembly of the pump with an arm on the regular place on the engine, screw and tighten fixing bolts with the demanded effort (22 Nanometers).
6. Connect a tube of C and the soaking-up hose to the pump, - the connecting nut of the nipple socket is tightened with effort of 39.2 Nanometers, - track that the hose was not overwound and did not nestle on the components located in the neighbourhood.
7. Further installation is made as it should be, the return to an order of dismantle of components. The effort of a tightening of a bolt of a natyazhitel makes 8 Nanometers.
8. In summary make gas station of system of hydrostrengthening of a wheel.


Models of 3.0 l

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Install the plug on the interfaced pump housing surface.
2. Further installation is made as it should be, the return to an order of dismantle of components. Track that all fixture was tightened with the demanded effort (see Specifications and accompanying illustrations to the subsection "Removal").

Hydraulic checks

Check of adjustable pressure

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

 Previously it is necessary to estimate degree of wear of internal components and to make the corresponding replacements (see above)!

In order to avoid damage of the steering pump do not hold the manometer valve closed, and a steering wheel turned out against the stop further, than within 5 seconds!

Immediately collect all traces of the spilled hydraulic liquid dry rags or paper towels!

1. Connect to the ST1 92511000 manometer transitional hoses And and In (ST2: 34099AC020 and ST3: 34099AC010).
2. Disconnect a pressure head hose from the pump and instead of it connect transitional a hose of B (ST2) of measuring assembly, - use sealing laying No. 34621AC021 and a nipple bolt No. 34620AC010.
3. Disconnect a tube With from a tube from the steering mechanism and connect to it transitional a hose And (ST3) of measuring assembly.
4. Check liquid level in the GUR tank, make necessary adjustment.

5. Open the gate of the manometer and start the engine on single turns.

6. Consider the indication of the manometer. If the result of measurement exceeds limit admissible value (981 kPas), check a state and passability of hydraulic lines, make necessary corrections, replace the failed components.

Check of pressure of opening of the reducing valve

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

Block the gate and consider the indication of the manometer. Reopen the gate of the manometer and consider its indications at a reversing of a steering wheel from an emphasis against the stop. If the result of measurement exceeds the limit of admissible range (9.611 ÷ 10.199 kPas: for l models 2.0 and 2.5 / 7.650 ÷ 8.340 kPas: for models of 3.0 l), replace pump assembly.

Check of working pressure

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

Reopen the gate of the manometer and consider its indications at a reversing of a steering wheel from an emphasis against the stop. If the result of measurement exceeds the limit of admissible range (9.611 ÷ 10.199 kPas: for l models 2.0 and 2.5 / 7.650 ÷ 8.340 kPas: for models of 3.0 l), replace assembly of the operating valve with the leading gear wheel of the steering mechanism.
