Preliminary estimate of a condition of the pump
|
1. Failure of the water pump is capable to cause the most serious consequences, up to full jamming of the engine as a result of an overheat. The defective pump is subject to replacement. 2. Warm up the engine up to the normal working temperature and, without suppressing it, squeeze a hand the top hose of a radiator, - if at a hose otpuskaniye in it the liquid push is distinctly felt, therefore, the water pump functions regularly.

3. The water pump is usually equipped with a control/air vent. In case of failure of an epiploon from an opening cooling liquid starts exuding. Prepare a pocket small lamp and a small pocket mirror, - the opening is located from below on a pump housing, directly under an assembly axis. Existence round an opening of deposits of brownish color testifies to malfunction of an epiploon, - easy decolouration of a surface (a ring of light gray color) should not cause concern. 4. At failure of bearings of a shaft of the pump in engine operating time in its forward part there can be a howling sound which should not be confused to the whistle published by a driving belt when weakening effort of its tension. Wear of the bearing can be revealed on existence of a side play when rocking a nave/shaft of the pump (do not forget to switch off before the engine and to throw off a belt from a pulley). 5. Even in the absence of external signs of wear the final conclusion about a condition of the water pump can be made only after its removal and more detailed studying. |

REMOVAL
CHECK
|
1. Make sure of smoothness of rotation of the bearing of pump assembly. 2. Estimate a condition of a driving wheel of the pump.
|
3. Rotating a driving wheel, by means of the dial measuring instrument of plunger type determine the size of a radial side play of a rotor in the persistent direction. |
|
4. Measure by the probe of lezviyny type the size of a gap of landing of a rotor in the case.
Nominal rate of 0.5 ÷ 0.7 mm Limit admissible value: 1.0 mm |
5. Compare results of measurements to requirements of Specifications. In case of need make replacement of pump assembly. |

INSTALLATION
|
|
Installation is made upside-down. Do not forget to replace sealing laying. Bolts of fastening of the pump are tightened strictly in a certain order in two stages, on 12 Nanometers on everyone. Track that all other fixture was also tightened with the demanded effort (see Specifications and accompanying illustrations to the subsection "Removal"). |

INSTALLATION
|
Installation is made upside-down. Bolts of fastening of the pump are tightened with effort of 6.4 Nanometers. Do not forget to replace sealing rings, - for the purpose of simplification of process of installation of the pump grease new sealing rings with cooling liquid. |
