Removal, service and installation of forward racks



1. Tire out the car on the elevator.
2. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
3. Lift the car and remove forward wheels.
4. Turn out a fastening bolt to a rack of a basic arm of a flexible brake hose.
5. Mark the provision of a head of a bolt of adjustment of disorder of wheels which the rack fastens to assembly of a rotary fist.
6. Turn out a fastening bolt to a rack of a basic arm of an electrical wiring of the wheel ABS sensor.

7. Give fixing nuts and take two bolts of fastening of a rack to a rotary fist.

 Samokontryashchiyesya nuts at an otpuskaniye is subject to replacement without fail!

8. Release three fixing nuts of the top support and take rack-mount assembly from under the car through a wheel arch.



1. By means of the special adaptation clamped in a vice squeeze a screw spring of rack-mount assembly, then by means of a special face head of ST 927760000 release samokontryashchuyusya a nut of fastening of a rod of the shock-absorber in assembly of the top support of a rack.

2. Slowly release the squeezing adaptation and remove a screw spring.
3. Remove a boot and a damping spring.

Check of a condition of components

Attentively examine components of rack-mount assembly on existence of signs of excessive wear and mechanical damages, make sure of lack of cracks and cuts of rubber components. replace the failed elements.

Telescopic shock-absorber


 At service of gas-filled shock-absorbers without fail put on goggles!

1. Examine the shock-absorber taken from a glass of rack-mount assembly on existence of signs of development of leaks.
2. Manually check completeness and smoothness of the course of a piston rod.

3. Reliably fix the case of the shock-absorber laid horizontally, press a plunger of the dial measuring instrument to a rod surface on removal of L = 10 mm from a cut of smooth part, then wring out a rod with effort of W = 2 kgfs down, made for the end of carving part and nullify the measuring instrument. Further, with the same effort (2 kgfs) pull the end of a rod up and consider the indication of the measuring instrument. If the result of measurement exceeds limit admissible value (0.8 mm), replace the shock-absorber.

4. Utilization of the failed shock-absorbers has to be made with observance of special precautionary measures. Do not make attempts of dismantling of the shock-absorber at all, before utilization drill the shock-absorber case.

Top support of a rack

Attentively study a condition of rubber components of assembly of the top support, in case of identification of signs of aging of material, cracks, cuts and other damages replace the failed elements.


The boot is subject to replacement in case of identification of signs of aging of rubber, cracks, cuts and other damages.

Screw spring

Examine a screw spring on existence of cracks, chips and other defects. Also given and extended screw springs are subject to replacement, - if evenly loaded car has uneven landing (make sure that wheels are not lowered), it is necessary to measure the free length of screw springs, to compare results of measurements to requirements of Specifications and in case of need to replace the failed springs.


The condition of a damper is checked as well as a condition of all other rubber components of a rack (see above).

1. Before starting assembly of a rack a belief the mechanism of generation of the air damping efforts to existence of signs of hit in it (see further).
2. Install the shock-absorber by vertically piston rod up and wring out the last down to an emphasis.
3. Having grasped the end of a rod fingers, move it up-down. If the size of the course of a rod exceeds 10 mm, it is necessary to make removal of the air which got to the shock-absorber (see further).
4. Extend a piston rod against the stop up, then wring out it down to the end of the course, - repeat this procedure 3-4 times.

 After completion of procedure of removal of air traffic jams the rack should not be lowered in horizontal situation, otherwise the purge should be repeated!

5. Having prepared the shock-absorber for installation, squeeze the special adaptation a screw spring. Also put her on a rack rounds with the truncated step up.

6. Correctly place the lower end face of a spring in the lower plate of rack-mount assembly, - the end of a round has to get to special deepening in a saddle.

7. Put a rubber damper and a boot on a shock-absorber piston rod.

8. Against the stop extend a rod and put on it the top plate of a spring with the rubber saddle enclosed in it, - track correctness of landing of a plate.

9. Put the top support on a rod and temporarily tighten NEW samokontryashchuyusya a nut.
10. Holding a piston rod from a provorachivaniye Rozhkov a key, by means of a special head of ST 927760000 tighten samokontryashchuyusya a nut with the demanded effort (55 Nanometers).



1. Fill a rack on the regular place in a wheel arch.
2. Establish the top support and tighten nuts of its fastening with the demanded effort (20 Nanometers).
3. Achieve combination of the landing tags of a bolt of adjustment of disorder of wheels put in the course of dismantle and, holding its head motionless, tighten with the demanded effort (175 Nanometers) NEW samokontryashchuyusya a fixing nut.
4. Fix a plait of an electrical wiring of the wheel ABS sensor and a flexible brake hose on the lower support of a rack, - tighten bolts of fastening of basic arms with the demanded effort (32 Nanometers).
5. Establish to the place of a wheel and lower the car on the earth.
6. In summary drive away the car on car repair shop for check and adjustment of corners of installation of forward wheels.
