Instrumentations

The scheme of an arrangement of measuring instruments/indexes is given in a combination of devices on an illustration above.

Tachometer

The tachometer shows the frequency of rotation of a cranked shaft of the engine in thousands of revolutions per minute. In order to avoid an exit of the engine it is out of operation forbidden to exceed the most admissible frequency of rotation of a cranked shaft (the arrow of a tachometer never has to come into a red zone of a scale).

Speedometer

The speedometer shows the speed of the movement of the car. As a unit of measure km/h usually serve. In certain cases on the dial of the measuring instrument two scales can be put: km/h and miles/h. The alarm buzzer of excess of admissible safe speed of the movement (120 km/h) can sometimes be included in the package of the car.

Fuel reserve measuring instrument

The device registers the current amount of fuel in a tank. The error of indications of the measuring instrument is minimum when the car holds strictly horizontal position. At the movement of the car on twisting or hilly roads the error of the device increases. Functioning of the measuring instrument does not depend on position of the ignition key. The tag of F corresponds to a condition of full gas station, E - to an empty tank. The control lamp which is built in the dial informs the driver on need at the first opportunity to make refueling of the car.


Measuring instrument of temperature of cooling liquid of the engine

The device registers temperature of cooling liquid of the engine. Normal working temperature of the engine at operation of the car in usual conditions corresponds to the average provision of an arrow of the index. Under trying conditions operation, for example, in very hot weather or at long rise uphill the arrow of the index can rise to the top red mark in a scale (N). If temperature of the engine increased so that the arrow of the index comes into limits of red range of a scale of the measuring instrument, it is necessary to stop immediately the movement, to move down on a roadside, to park and make check of a condition of the cooling system regarding clarification of the reasons of an overheat of the engine (see the Head Routine maintenance).


Display of indications of the odometer/counter of the current run/temperature of external air

The display of indications of the odometer, the counter of the current run and, - at the corresponding complete set), - temperatures of external air is built in in the speedometer dial.


Switching of the modes of the display is made by means of the speedometer of the push-button switch located on the right under the dial. Switching is made according to the scheme: The odometer — the Counter of the current run — the Odometer, or: The odometer — the Counter of the current run — the External thermometer — the Odometer.

Odometer

The odometer fixes the general run of the car in kilometers or miles, depending on execution option from the moment of the beginning of operation.

Counter of a distance in kilometers of the current run


The counter registers the current run of the car from the moment of the last dumping of the indications (in kilometers or miles, depending on execution option). Dumping of indications of the counter is made by means of the button of switching of the modes: enter the mode of the counter of the current run and for zeroing of indications hold the button pressed within several seconds.

Index of temperature of external air

In this mode the display highlights indications of the external thermometer.

Hours

The digital display of a conclusion of indications of onboard hours is built in in the tachometer dial. On the right under the dial the handle of installation of indications of hours is located. Rotation of the handle clockwise leads to increase in indications, against - to reduction.

Control lamps and light indicators

The whole complex of control lamps and indicators by means of which the driver receives important information on serviceability/violation functioning of the main units and systems of the car is built in assembly of a combination of devices of the car. The scheme of an arrangement of control lamps on an instrument guard is submitted on sopr. illustrations. Below information on the principle of functioning of each of the provided light indicators separately is offered to attention of the reader.

Light indicators of indexes of turn


Light indicators in the form of arrows have a green luminescence and serve for control of serviceability of functioning of the corresponding indexes of turns. The direction of indicator arrows coincides with the chosen direction of a change of course of the car. Indicators work in the flashing mode with frequency, the corresponding frequency of a blinking of indexes of turn. The speeded-up blinking of one of indicators usually testifies to burn-out of a lamp of one of indexes of the corresponding turn. Follows at the first opportunity to make replacement of the burned-down lamp not to create emergencies on roads.

Turning on of the alarm system usually is followed by a simultaneous blinking of indicators of indexes of both turns.

Light indicator of activation of a driving beam


This light indicator lights up along with inclusion of a driving beam of head headlights of the car and differs in a characteristic blue luminescence.

Control lamp of pressure of motive oil


The control lamp of pressure of motive oil (red) has to light up at inclusion of ignition and die away right after start of the engine. The lamp blinking at the working engine testifies to the pulsation decrease in working pressure of engine oil in the engine. Transition of the indicator to the mode of a constant luminescence says that pressure of oil fell to dangerously low level that is fraught with serious internal damages of the engine, up to its full exit out of operation. In both cases it is necessary to take urgent measures for adjustment of level of oil, identification and elimination of the reasons of pressure drop.

Alarm indicator of leaky closing of doors


Burning of this indicator warns the driver what not all doors of the car are densely shut. The indicator has a red, or yellow luminescence.

Control lamp of raising of a parking brake / refusals of brake system


The control lamp (red) continuously burns when raising the parking brake, reminding the driver of need of his otpuskaniye before a start of motion. The movement with the cocked parking brake leads to a fast overheat and failure of brake mechanisms of back wheels of the car and premature wear of protectors of tires of back wheels, but also, can become a cause of infringement of serviceability of functioning of system of anti-blocking of brakes (ABS).

If the control lamp continues to burn after an otpuskaniye of the parking brake, or joins in movement time, it usually testifies to excessive falling of level of brake fluid. One of the possible reasons of gradual decrease in level of brake fluid is normal wear of frictional overlays of brake shoes. At operation of a control lamp the car should be driven away on the nearest car repair shop for an assessment of a condition of blocks and check of tightness of a hydraulic path of brake system.

Short-term operation of a control lamp happens also at ignition inclusion (even at the released parking brake).

Control lamp of a charge of the battery


The control lamp of a charge has to light up at inclusion of ignition and die away right after start of the engine. Inclusion of this control lamp at the working engine warns the driver about violation of serviceability of functioning of system of a charge, i.e., the battery passes the category mode. It is necessary to switch off at once everything consumers of the electric power on which functioning traffic safety does not depend and to try not to allow an engine stop as attempt of its start can lead to the final category of the battery. The car should be driven away at once on the nearest car repair shop for carrying out diagnostics of refusal and performance of necessary recovery repair.

Control lamp of MIL ("Check the engine")


The control lamp (amber) quickly lights up at ignition inclusion. Operation of this indicator in any other time testifies to possible malfunction of one of systems of the engine, including systems of decrease in toxicity of the fulfilled gases. In the absence of visible signs of refusals of functioning of systems of the power unit and decrease in dynamics of the vehicle, fixed by inclusion of a control lamp of violation can be the reason of increase in fuel consumption or increase of toxicity of emissions. Ignoring of signals of a control lamp is fraught with serious damages of the engine, up to a unit exit out of operation. At operation of a control lamp under way it is necessary to stop immediately the movement, to park in a safe place and to kill the engine, then, later small time, to make start, watching thus behavior of a control lamp. If the lamp did not return to the normal mode of functioning and continues to burn, the car should be driven away on the nearest car repair shop for carrying out detailed diagnostics and performance of necessary recovery repair. Before elimination of malfunction of systems of the engine try to move with a moderate speed, avoiding sharp dispersals with full squeezing of a pedal of gas.

 Even if at restart of the engine the control lamp comes back to the normal mode of functioning (i.e., dies away), follows at the first opportunity to address for consultation on car repair shop, especially if such inclusions of a lamp happen not for the first time.


 Continuation of operation of the car with the included control lamp of violation of serviceability of functioning of systems of the engine can lead to premature failure of the catalytic converter. Remember that on the refusals and damages which resulted from operation of the car with the included control lamp, guarantee certificates of manufacturer do not extend!


Control lamp of system of additional safety (SRS)


This control lamp lights up at inclusion of ignition and has to die away right after implementation of start of the engine. If the lama continues to burn at the working engine (in the constant or flashing mode), it indicates existence of malfunction of components of SRS system. At the corresponding complete set operation of this control lamp can be the testimony of malfunction in contours of lateral safety cushions, or devices of automatic emergency natyazhitel of seat belts (see the Section System of Additional Safety (SRS)).

Control lamp of ABS


This control lamp serves for control of serviceability of functioning of ABS, quickly works at inclusion of ignition and has to die away some seconds later after implementation of start of the engine.

Control lamp of system of dynamic stabilization (VDC)


This control lamp is quickly activated at inclusion of ignition and has to go out right after implementation of start of the engine, confirming with that readiness of a control system of dynamics for functioning.

Refusal of a lamp of inclusion at turn of the ignition key in the situation ON, it is equal as refusal of its shutdown after start of the engine and dispersal of the car to speed more than 12 km/h, and also its operation during the movement testify to violation of serviceability in a VDC system chain.

 The VDC system exercises control of ABS system through an electric chain of the last. Respectively, malfunctions in ABS chain also lead to activation of a control lamp of VDC. At refusals of VDC and ABS the brake system of the car continues to function in the usual mode.


Light indicator of activation of VDC


This indicator is activated approximately for 2 seconds at inclusion of ignition and has to go out right after implementation of start of the engine, confirming with that readiness of a control system of dynamics for functioning. Refusal of a lamp of inclusion/switching off testifies to violation of serviceability of functioning of VDC system.

At VDC function activation the indicator passes into the flashing mode. Remark: Activation of VDC happens only at inclusion of antiprobuksovochny system (TCS).

Light indicator of shutdown (waiting mode) of VDC/TCS

This indicator is activated approximately for the 6th seconds at inclusion of ignition and has to go out right after implementation of start of the engine, confirming with that readiness of a control system of dynamics for functioning. Refusal of a lamp of inclusion/switching off testifies to violation of serviceability of functioning of VDC system.

Shutdown (transfer to a waiting mode) of VDC/TCS systems also leads to activation of the indicator.

At start of the engine in cold weather shutdown of the indicator can happen to some delay that should not cause concern, - the lamp has to go out as soon as the engine gets warm up to the normal working temperature. Also the brand of the fuel filled in the car can have impact on duration of a delay of shutdown of the indicator.

The VDC OFF indicator is activated also at identification of malfunctions in a control system of the engine (operation of a control lamp of MIL).

Alarm indicator "Fasten Seat Belts"


This indicator has an amber luminescence and quickly works at start of the engine, reminding drivers/passengers of need of fastening by seat belts.

The light indicator of activation of the HOLD mode (model with AT)


This indicator works at inclusion of the HOLD AT mode.

The light indicator of activation of the POWER mode (model with AT)


This indicator works at inclusion of the POWER AT mode.

The light indicator of activation of the mode of the lowering transfer (model with the disconnected redukotor)


This indicator works at inclusion of the mode of the lowering transfer.

The light indicator of activation of the front-wheel mode (only for models with AT without VDC)


This indicator confirms activation of the forward drive on models with the switched-off forward drive.

Control lamp of temperature of ATF


This control lamp allows the driver to control an overheat of transmission oil in AT at the movement in cross-country conditions or the mountain district.

Control lamp of system of an immobilization of the engine


This control lamp serves for control over serviceability of functioning of system of an electronic immobilization of the engine.

 

Control lamp of the minimum reserve of fuel


The control lamp is built in in the fuel consumption measuring instrument (see below) and joins when in a fuel tank of the car there are less than 10 l of fuel and warns the driver about need to make gas station of the car at the first opportunity.

The light indicator of the transfer of a suspension bracket to the lifted situation


This indicator is activated and starts functioning in the flashing mode when transfer an electric air suspension bracket from the situation NORMAL in the situation HI.

 The speeded-up blinking of the indicator testifies to violation of serviceability of functioning of an electric air control system.


Display panel of provisions of the AT selector

On models with AT in the central part of a combination of devices the light panel with indicators of position of the lever of the selector is built in.
